shows you the plans, apparantly there are some big ships moored off shore waiting to dump the rocks for the reef, if you go to 'Lets get wet' forum (google it) it's a kayak site and click on 'general chat' there's a bit of info there.

Pretty sure theyve all dropped off now. Lets hope its a better success than Bormouth, but with the company's past record I have serious doubts!

The rocks aren't for the reef as far as I know, they are for the breakwaters and groynes. They haven't started work on the reef yet.

They are still dropping off the rocks though. There are now two large barges moored about 4nm offshore of Borth and then smaller barges and tugs that bring loads of rock into shore each high tide and drop it off. JCB and other Tonka toys then move them into place.

they could have saved loads of money by employing spooker, he spends most of his time in the water rather than on top of it, if he breaths out that'll be the breakwater sorted......

The only time Col gets wet nowadays is when he forgets his incontinence pants

The aerial photos of the causeway are pretty cool, but as far as I know the causeway is just a temporary feature that they will be removing once they have finished work on the scheme. The groynes that they have built further north along the beach are pretty big as well. You certainly feel their presence whilst windsurfing past them at high tide.

That all looks mad. I haven't been to Borth for years but it looks like its all change on the seafront. Will the reef actually improve the surf or will it end up preventing people from going surfing like the one in Bournemouth.

They are expecting to start work on the North Reef sometime in the middle of May and then start work on the South Reef in the middle of June.

Expected completion dates are:
North Reef: Middle of October
South Reef: End of August.
