Jet Skis Again

This is an article from a Manchester Newspaper. A pretty tragic event, that once again does seem to highlight just how dangerous jet-skis can be. It was only last week that the N.Wales Coastguard had to rescue a man and his 4 children from the seas off Anglesey after they got into difficulty on a Jet Ski, 7 miles from where they launched with only summer wetsuits on and 2 life-jackets between them, and now this.

quote:

A MAN killed when his jet-ski crashed into Blackpool pier has been named as Ian Hales from Bolton.
His wife Deborah, 46, who was riding the jet-ski with him, is still in intensive care in hospital in a critical condition.
Family members watched in horror from the beach as they saw the couple's jet-ski crash into the North Pier on Friday.
The inshore lifeboat and coastguard were scrambled and pulled the couple from the water but Ian, 47, was pronounced dead on arrival at Blackpool's Victoria Hospital.
An eye-witness described hearing a loud bang and suggested that, as the tide was out the water might not have been deep enough to control the vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident.
