Something to make you smile, I hope.

Greetings one and all.

I see the weather has been quiet in the UK so there¥s not been so much to read in the diaries.

Well, you could be in Tarifa....

I don¥t intend to make a habit of this, but thought I¥d share my last couple of travelogues with you, at least it¥ll be something to read:

Then yesterday it started to rain. And rain. And rain. All through the
night... and again all day today, although when the storms started at
lunchtime it just got heavier and heavier...

I started to worry slightly when the awning carpet was underwater, then as
the water level approached the wheeltrims on my car, the campsite boss
advised against going out, ¥just in case¥ we had to move the caravans to
higher ground. So I¥ve had a really INTERESTING day sitting in my caravan
watching the rain.

You know, when you read about windsurfers taking year-long journeys in the
magazines, they¥re always ¥stoked¥ and having an ¥awesome¥ time. They¥re
never sitting in a caravan all day in the pouring rain watching the water
level rise, and trying to learn the spanish grammatical construction for ¥I
would not have hit him, had he not have slapped me around the face with a
wet kipper¥. Reality can be cruel sometimes.

..... the next entry:

Welcome to another exciting installment in the action-packed life of a
stoked, hard-core, windsurfing dude having an awesome time living life right
on the edge. The edge of insanity that is.

It¥s Saturday and it is STILL raining! Yesterday I spent yet another day
ensconsed in my little box surrounded by a quagmire. The high-point of the
day was a trip to the neighbouring campsite to exchange Camping Gaz
cylinders...

At least the gas had the decency to run out during the two-hour pause when
it stopped raining. Unfortunately, my car was 3 inches lower than when I had
parked it the previous night, having sunk so far into the mud that the rain
was almost up to the sills... Lisa to the rescue, with her Range Rover!

***

So there you go, it¥s not all fun & games down here either, but in a bittersweet way, I prefer it this way. If anyone¥s really bored, the rest of the travelogues are on The Forum at www.windlords.com

In the meantime, fingers crossed for all of us!

Cheers,

Andrew

PS- it¥s stopped raining now!
