Hey Up
DaveH - 17-5-2007 at 03:36

Hey everyone,

Just want to to say hi and introduce myself.

I used to be UK (Isle of Man) based, but moved to the warmer climes of the Caribbean 4years ago.
I kite, surf and used to windsurf, but kiting is the main ting.

I'm aiming to come over to the UK on a trip this year so any advice on some locations would be awesome. Lookin at trying to find some killer wave and flat water spots for kiting in the North, South, East and West.

Awesome forum. Can't believe i never joined it sooner.

Welcome....

Good to have someone who knows the IOM on the site. I have family there and so often visit the island, but there are very few windsurfers / kitesurfers over there so I usually have the best of the beaches to myself... I'm not complaining though as that is just the way I like it!!.. Certainly better than overcrowded beaches anyway.

Hope you enjoy F-o-N.

As far as places to kitesurf etc go, then we live on an island, there are beaches everywhere you look!

Al.

Cheers for the welcome.

I remember you coming over to the IOM on holidays. Somehow you always managed to get it good with the wind and waves.

Glad you still go over. Its an awesome place with sick locations, and as you said its quiet. I remember scoring perfect Gansey, side-off head high, to myself for 3 days once.

Aaaahhh.... That Dave!!!

I didn't realise it was you... I think this is the day you were thinking of at Gansey.

Or is that the other DaveH???

Yup its that Dave and yup that was one of the days. Can't believe with conditions like that the guys opted to ride in onshore castletown. Not complaining though, i had it all to me self.

Awesome job with the site Al. Great to see how much it has grown.

Pretty much stopped windsurfing now (only flat water for windsurfing over here in St Lucia) and fully into my kiting and loving it. (with the occasional surf day thrown in).

If you ever fancy a Caribbean F-o-N trip just let me know. We got some great conditions over here for all kinds of sports, and the best part is its nice and uncrowded.

I've pretty much stopped kitesurfing these days and tend to stick with windsurfing, although I seem to be the only one windsurfing around here at the mo... Steve and Impi were too scared to come out this weekend!

A Caribbean trip sounds like a good idea.... Maybe I'll have to start saving!
