Fin Bolt catastrophe
justal - 29-9-2008 at 13:22

Grrrrrr... Perfect conditions here, 20-25 knots with sunny spells. So I get kitted up, walk across to the beach with my kit, rig up then go to put the fin in my board only to find the a stripped thread on the fin bolt... Walk back home to see if I can find a spare one but can't so walk back to the beach, collect my kit and that's the end of the day for me!!!

What a waste of time, and worse still I don't know where I can get a fin bolt around here either so may have to sit out for the rest of the week whilst I try to find somewhere online that will send me a few without charging ridiculous postage costs!

Has anyone locally got a fin bolt for a classic box fin they can sell me??

Al.

Hey Al,

Are you sorted Al or do you want me to bring you one tomorrow? If so, how long is it?

My windsurfing ended in tears too last week, my harness snapped the otherside of the lake. I suppose it could of been worse though, I could of been out kiteing this week, I wouldn't of waned it snapping right out back on my own.

I haven't got one yet Dunk so if you could bring one over that would be good.. It'll drive me mad sat hear watching the first wind in ages and not being able to get out because of a stupid fin bolt!...

It is just a standard US / Classic fin box so I need the bolt and the nut as it is actually the thread on the nut that is stripped I think.

What time are you getting to the beach tomorrow?

Cheers,
Al.

Ok,

I'll have to go into work in the morning then, I should get to the beach around 2 pm.

Cheers Dunk....

I won't be able to get out today then either as I would have to be off the water by about midday, but if you could post the nuts and bolts through the letterbox I'll at least be about tomorrow.

Thanks,
Al.
