Joes Speed Loop training device

Just been out enjoying the hot weather here by having a cool little BBQ in the garden with Anna, her mum, Joe, his wife Dunja and their two kids whose names I won't even attempt to write.

Joe brought his speed loop training board with him....Basically its a thin plank of wood with two footstraps and a deckplate attached to it.
According to Joe first you just learn the rotation by doing it on dry land yourself, then you do it with just a rig, and then you attach the rig to this special 'speed loop training board' put your feet in the straps and then start throwing yourself around the front of the rig to get the feeling of the loop. We were going to try it out on the lawn, but (as is the usual story), there just wasn't enough wind.
Mind you, surely its gonna hurt more on dry land than in the water?? Well, its worth a try, after all Joe did (apparently) learn to gybe in his living room!

Learning to loop on the water sounds like a painful experience but on land? Very silly!

So did it help?

I still haven't plucked up the courage to give it a go on water!!!... Its all well and good from stationary on a sand dune, but its a nother thing altogether at 20 mph with a big chunk of fiberglass strapped to your feet.

looks good fun, but I can't help but think you might need a little more downhall on that sail to get the best performance
