Who else here is doing the Dyfi Enduro this year?
I know that BEFS, Shem and myself are signed up. Anyone else?
Al.
Well, the big day is tomorrow and I've got a headache, sore throat, bunged up and aches all over - A full on Lurgy.
Not looking good.
Al.
What's your plan Shem?
BEFS... Are you staying over? Where are you?
Al.
Sounds like you should be sailing instead. Ivor could be in full swing.
Yep, I know.... That may be the plan.
Last time I 'raced' with a cold I ended up in hospital and out of action for a few months so it's not worth the risk... A quick little
windsurf shouldn't do too much harm though.
Al.
I should be down tomorrow. Tides are not perfect for speed but the wind should be good.
Cool... Tides should be OK in the morning, which will hopefully coincide with the best wind.
Al.
Imnot riding Al, the instructor I had booked in to teach for me has a ear infection, so every thing has led to me not riding. Having spoken t the mach lads the course is really muddy allready, and parts have had trees feloed which is adding to major mud. Glad Im teaching tommorow!! Ill be over early for a play to wot time u getting in?
Well the speed board is now in the van. Hopefully we will get a crack at 40knots tomorrow.
Well, I'm not doing the Dyfi Enduro.... I was exhausted yetserday after driving into town and back and don't feel any better today so
there's simply no point. Especially considering the fact that last time I did a 'race' when I was ill I ended up on the cardiac ward in
Bronglais Hospital and out of action for a few months.
I shall stay at home and take it easy. There is some wind, but not a huge amount. ENE at the moment and about 10 knots, with gusts to
20 knots, there may be just enough in the estuary.
Al.
Wind never really materialised here....
How was the Dyfi Enduro??
Al.
It was tough!
Hehehe... Just our normal riding around here!!
What time did you do?
Al.
I just missed doing the extra loop I was 20 places inside the cut off but I was starting to cramp so I stopped and had a good stretch!
I came home 247th in the end just after 3.30pm
That first climb just went on for ever! Some proper scary decents I think its called the world cup decent that had a huge grin
factor.
On one of the down hills there were bodys and bikes everywhere with torn tyres and pinch flats
I managed the whole ride proper without a fall or a flat then fell off and had a puncture riding back after the finish!
The 5km to the feed station sign was a good touch just didn't say it was all up hill!
Some of the climbs a bit soul destroying seeing riders at the very top of the hill and knowing you have all they way to go.
I'll be back next year for another go
Sneaky.... Stopping just before the punishment loop and letting others pass you!
Sounds as though you enjoyed it though and as you say, some of the climbs around here just go on and on!
Al.
