Thursday looks good at the mo.
SW veering NW 30 knots.... Luverly.
Tomorrow could be a little mad in the estuary too.
Anyone making the trip??
Al.
Already booked Thursday and Friday off so I'll be out on Thursday ;-)
Just gotta decide where to launch from.
Was thinking about Wednesday but the tide is big and early and the wind looks like it might come in with loads of rain.
Andy
Let me know when you'll be here Andy and I'll work my day out around it if possible.
Al.
Depends how early I can wake up, pack the car + 2.5 hours for the drive.
So usually about 10.30 ish ;-)
OK.... I have to be at work by 12.30pm so off the water at noon... I'll therefore probably already be on the water when you get
here.
Al.
Not looking quite so good as it was now.... 20-25 knots rather than 30 knots, but that'll do!
Al.
Ill be teaching at ynys las tommorow AL, c u there. Ill be out for a lunch time play as well!!
OK.... I have to go to work today, but I'll be there if it starts raining (which it should do!)
Al.
Here it comes..... gusting to 22 knots already, Ivor is on his way down the valley and it could go ballistic in there today!
Al.
It was certainly pretty windy in the estuary... Gusting to 35 knots.... Nice!!
A bit colder than it has been too.
Al.
Hope the wind holds for tomoz. I'll get there as early as I can....
Looks as though it should still be OK tomorrow Andy.
I'll probably wait for you to turn up if you're going to be early(ish) so let me know when you get here.
Al.
Which side are you launching from?
I have managed to get Thursday off work
Al,
I'll call round incase you haven't already gone over.
Shady,
We're going off the Golf Course car park, I think most people are but check the other Thursday thread
here.
going out from dovey now due to high tides, main carpark in dovey for 10 ish
Shady, Neil & Shem all going to Dovey
hope you all have as good a time as me tomorow..me was at dovey today i'm shatered .what a wind and rain took a layer of skin off my face too:-)me all aches n pains must be gettin too old for this sport
Yep, it was good at Ynyslas today, looking forward to some waves on the seafront tomorrow now... A little less rain than today would be
nice though!
Al.
Your still a coupla diary entries behind me Al. Are you gonna win this month???
Think the only way I can beat you is if I get out both Sat & Sun but even then you got Monday & Tuesday next week to have a
bash.
Ok just checked the forecasts. Saturdays looking good but Sundays gonna be a right off I think
It isn't a competition Jonny!!!
Weekend doesn't look too good to me at the moment thoughm so you will probably win.
It's blowing a hoolie out there at the moment though... Should be fun!!
Al.
I dont add my diary entries any more, cos Id upset you all!!!!
Well, it certainly lived up to its promise.... 37 knots this morning, which had eased off to a nice 25 knots by the time we got on the
water.
And sunshine too!
Loads of mad blasting about in the waves and several trips across to Graveyards where the kiters were out... Not so much wind over
there though so I always struggled to get going on the Dyfi side, but plenty on the Ynyslas side allowing me to go where I pleased.
Diary
entry here
Al.
Wished I hadn't logged on now....
Warm, sunny and 20+ knots,
and I'm stuck in an office in Nottingham
Great session today just perfect and I actually felt OK out there although it still seemed fairly big out the back.
25 knots, waves 'n sun..... nice (is it really the end of October?)
Al,
I think I managed a few decent little jumps, don't suppose you saw any cause I'm not sure if I've got them right yet?
Look at the wind strength for 'Wick' on the Northern tip of Scotland. Was taken from XC weather a few minutes ago.
Thats force 11 on the beaufort scale. More than enough for the Red bull storm chase. You'd have to be on a 2m2 sail and 65 litre board
to have any chance in them conditions. Survival!
Another 5 star day, sun, wind & good company
I dont use the Diary either, the last two entries I made never made it on to the web site.
I don't know what happened there then Shady.... No one else has ever had a problem and you have some diary entries so it must have
worked OK when you did those??
Certainly was pretty good condition here today though.. Glad it wasn't as windy as N. Scotland though, I'm aching enough as it is.
Andy... I wasn't paying that much attention I'm afraid, but I did see you airborne a bit a couple of times... I'll watch out next time,
but by then you'll be onto loops anyway!!
Al.
another good day out windsurfing, blasting in the sunshine at dovey est- its a shame it all went a bit tits up when one windsufer parted from his gear half way across. we all went out to help... and good news for him we draged it out onto borth side beach before we waved bye bye to it going out to sea...But gad news for the kind sailor that kindly offered to give the windsurfer a lift across the est- to collect his gear...he got in trouble trying to sail back to aberdovey in the strong winds and waves......he then broke his mast..:-( .... and gues what next....yep the life boat had to go out.... what perfomance ay!......... glad it was'nt me...
I seemed to have missed the excitement in the estuary as I was passing through, sounds like quite a day.
Al,
Know what you meant it was a bit busy out there, no time to be watching others ;-)
