Howdy Locals, few of the guys from www.spflyers.org are out for a blast over easter, wont go to brs or borth due to easter holiday makers, so was wondering whats the sory on Fairbourne for buggying is it any good/worth the trip..

Steve . better to place this in the general section ,or travel; dont get many peeps looking in this section.
dont know much about fairbourne but i know a man that does,send dunk a u to u message and i am sure he will get back with the info as he was a regular there .dont know what the beach guide says though.

thinking about it ,what is wrong with borth.
black rock will be banned for the season from this weekend i think.
borth is fine as long as peeps on buggys and land boards walk up the beach a bit away from the local hol makers.
make note the locals are getting a bit concerned about the land boards and buggy coming toooooo close to the peeps on the beach and us kitesurfers are asking all who comes to set up and use the beach futher towards the estuary away from peeps PLEASE;up by the small brick building maybe 100mtres up the beach would be a good start.

Don't most people just click on the 'Recent Posts' link to get a list of (funnily enough) all the recent posts regardless of which section they are in.... Just wondering as it helps to know how people actually navigate the site... Do the regulars still go to the individual sections?

As far as Fairbourne goes, it should be quieter than Borth over the weekend, but I'm not sure how firm the sand is... I wasn't that interested in that last time I was there which was quite a while ago now.

the reason we were looking for somewhere quiet is due to easter weekend holiday makers and the beaches being crowded, we dont wanna screw things up for everyone, plan at moment is to try Fairbourne then hit Borth if Fairbourne isnt up to cratch.

Not a great amont of beach for buggying. If you want some where quiet. Come to the cemetary beach between Aberdyfi and tywyn. 3 miles of quiet beach. usually rock solid, but on certain tides it can get soft in places. The other possibility would be Harlech. With it being Easter, just dont risk it if there are masses of familys around.

Thats it... check out Fairbourne and if not up to scratch go to Cemetary beach... its a lot less driving than going all the way around to Borth and the beach condiions are virtually identical.

I'm sure cemetry beach is in Aberdovey only the far end heading away from the Estuary and town.

Yep, it is pretty much on the corner between Tywyn and Aberdovey, just as the beach swings around the bend.

yes i live in boldmere Steve. when i first started on the land side used to buggy in sutton park with others including mJon now owner of powerkiteshop, long before the original ban maybe 5/6 years ago;after that we moved to the wirral land yacht club at hoylake for a few years before taking to the water totaly. we now kitesurf out of the borth area along with others of the birmingham navy ,now re chritened the borth massif.
i presume you must be with the peeps who fly up by the parson and clerk area.

Proper old school power kiter then ehh, only been buggying since 03 but started with stackers, still working on the SP ban Manager John Porter wants us in their but red tape holds us back.
I live up in Walmley, and yes were the peeps risking life and limb buggying at the back of beruit sorry kingstanding lol.
So you boys have dual citizenship with borth then, been up to Borth only a couple of times, will be up tomorrow for the day, will you be on the water.

cant make tomorrow and wind for sunday does not look good enough for the trip up so going to brancaster for the week probably.

If its light winds Ill be out buggying on the Cemetary beach stretch. Low tide most of the day so should be sweet. Ill be flying a black and gold Phantom.

Did you guys look at Fairbourne or Cemetary Beach first?? I saw you all on the beach at Borth. I decided not to kite that day but make the most of the surf.... Well, surf is a rarer commodity than wind around here so you have to make the most of it when it arrives...

Don't forget to add a diary entry.... we expect to see lots from die hard kiters like yourselves!

didnt bother with Fairbourne or Cemetary came straight to Borth, due to one of our guys being there on Holiday (kev - Thrape) Borth old timer, use to be a speed sailer i think the called themselves, ATB crossed with windsurfing kinda thing.

Borth always seems to have a brown water on the surface on the sand where we set up by the brick hut WTF is that about anything we should know.
