What a lovely day it was today, blazing sunshine, soaring temperatures and not too many tourists.
I went kitesurfing with my 11m Wipika Free Air and my directional board from the Golf Course Car park, Borth. Darren went out too, as
did Derek. I was getting on OK at first, but then the kite fell out of the sky and got pretty tangled so I couldn't relaunch it which
meant I had a LONG LONG swim back to shore. The wind was SSE, so had a bit of offshore in it which didn't help matters, but after a
hard slog I got back to the beach in one piece. I was probably swimming for about 40 minutes though. I then had to spend another hour
untangling everything (Cheers for helping Darren), before I went back out.
My second attempts were better, although I still loose ground downwind and have to walk back up the beach. This time I did a few little
jumps off the waves and even tried turning and sailing back switch stance on the toe edge..Unsuccessfully of course.
Darren had a good time too and is getting the hang of it now as well. Derek went off into the estuary somewhere for hours, but made it
back OK just as I was leaving. Charlie also went out for a fly with his foil just as I was leaving, and there were a few other people
flying kites and buggying at various times throughout the day.
A nice sunny day and the water is still warm.
