i really would like to get a trip to norway organised this easterish. i am off for 2 weeks from the 30 march 2007 and would like to
hear from people who would be interested in coming. i have emailed turbulence as they run trips there and am trying to call on their
expertise so it will not be an unknown quantity trip.
i would be up for it neil. count me in if the price is right
just received an email from adam at Turbulence, i have pasted it down for peeps to browse.
will be looking at pricing the ferry etc
Ireland yes we travel over on ferry to Dublin and then drive the rest of the way. This gives us the flexibility duirng the week.
2. Norway, we stay in a place called rallervegen it is on top of the glacier, but I know they are very busy for the rest of march and
april. They have a huge cross country ski event with over 20,000 competitors on about the 2nd weekend of april. As for travel again we
go by car , up to Newcastle and then 25hr crossing to Bergen. It is then a 300KM drive from bergen. Travel is really easy this way and
the trip is very relaxing. It also means that you can take all your food etc with you.
The cost of living out there is hideous so be careful (can of beans - £2.50, 6 pack of beer - £12) as for fuel etc very similar
to the UK. Our guys spent more on the ferry than anywhere else last year as they took about 30kgs of food each with them.
Give us a call if we can help.

Neil,
I'm probably up for a snow kite trip at Easter - probably only for around week to 10 days. Keep me posted with progress / costs etc. My
email is mec@aber.ac.uk
Mike
now if Norway looks like being full other ideas are canada; can be cold though............or maybe teign in france as there is the
glacier to snow kite on.
what say ye?
Neil,
When I was in Canada last year I didn't really see any wind at all. So I'm not sure about that option.
France would be ok with me,
Mike
have sent an email to chalet chardon; a cheap and acheerfull place in teign breviere..a snowboarders place but fine, more to spend on
beer!!!!
if the weather forecasters are corwe might have some mighty blizzards here before long!!!!
neil,
i have been chatting with a guy who organises snowkite demo tours for ozone in pas de la casa.
he is an english guy who lives in barcelona.
i was in touch with him this year when i went over but we never got to go out. but next march he has a big demo week planned with the
manufacturers.
either way. he is a good guy to know on the ground who can point out the best bowls to find.
plus if there is no wind you can just snowboard on the regular slopes.
i will get you his email address when i am back in the office tomorrow.
i have arranged to meet up with him in feb07 when i drive down in the new van as we will be mobile to find the best snowkite spots.
we are heading out friday 23rd/24th feb and then back on the sunday 4th march. will plan to do a long drive down, admittedly 12 hours
to get there. but will be sharing the driving with my mate.

otherwise...
iain@kitefrenzy.com
is the email address of the guy who organises the snow kite trips. the event he is doing is a demo show on the 9th, 10th, 11th
march.
Mark
Neil,
Would flying out not restrict us a bit in terms of getting to the best areas for wind direction etc?
Also, have you considered just taking vans and camping out. It's not too cold over Easter period and it saves us paying loads on
accommodation at that time of the year.
Mike
at teign you can snow kite around the lake at val claret which is the centre; or up on the glacier which is at the top of the
phennicular railway caught in the centre. teign brevier is just further down under the dam; last time we snowboarded down on one huge
run and get the cable car up.: flights were quite cheap and the coach which you catch just outside the airport main doors is also
cheap. will look into some prices
had a look at flights and they can be over the toop from satuday to saturday and then dirt cheap wed to wed;;;;;;;;;but i want to go
fro 2 weeks so i am quite willing to use my car and drive there and back for a 2 week session, what say ye Mike? dont fancy staying in
the vans as the chardon is so cheap and WARM WITH A BAR AND A GOOD VIBE!!!!!
Neil,
I would be happy with wed to wed if need be. So far, I have negotiated a week skiing. Rach is in France with work this week, but I'll
do some more sweet-talking this weekend. I'll try to confirm how long and possible dates this weekend.
Mike
Neil,
Rach is working in London on the 11- 13 April; so I will have to be home to look after the kids. So for me, I would prefer a week from
the 31st March to 7th April.
Mike
well come on amyone who wants to go going to book up after the new years.
ok chaps whos is up for it will need to get it organised within the next 2 weeks
Hi Neil
I'm boarding in Val d'isere/Tignes from 8th April til 15th April. Gonna take my 9m Instinct with me just in case I get a chance to do
some kiteboarding.
So if you're out there let me know
Rich
Rich where have you been? still got the van? still got the kites?
is there any snow worthwhile anywhere at the moment ?
looking at the various sites. most places seem to only have 20-30 cm depth.
hopefully it will pick up in the next week or so.
Mike looks like will be going from wed to wed as the air fares are looking like over £300 return to genever from sat to sat. unless anyone can find an alternative place to go to say Obertauern in
austria; has it got snow yet?
Neil,
Flights with Easyjet from Bristol to Geneva is around £100 each way leaving 31 March and returning 7 April.
Mike
right i've just booked Mike and myself in at the chalet chardon 31th march to 7th april about 260E half board.
anyone else who wants to come had better get in there quick
oh they have at least 30cm of snow in the village breviere itself so should be good!
