1. What directions does it work?
2. Is it tidal? If so what does it need to work? Any sizes to avoid?
3. I've seen a few pics of waves - where are they? What can they get up too?
4. Access - where to park/avoid etc.
5. How clean are your Easterlies?

There are very good parking places at the Estuary and at the Golf course, which is where people tend to also go...

OK, theres loads of info elsewhere on the site (check in the beach-guide and in the 'places' sections, but here are the wuick answers to your questions:

1. The estuary works in any direction with some Easterly in it, but SE's can be a little gusty. It is also sailable in really strong SW's, Westerlies and NW. The seafront works in Southerlies, but can be a bit gusty, SW's, Westerlies, NW's and Northerlies. It can also be sailed (as we did on Saturday) in strong winds with some Easterly in them giving flat water speed sailing sessions. Basically, you can sail in any wind direction, with only SE's being a little dodgy... Although, saying that, SE's often become NE in the estuary anyway!!

2. Yep, its tidal. On small neap tides you can sail pretty much at any time of the tide in the estuary, especially if you are willing to head over to the Aberdovey channel. Other than that, two hours either side of high tide is always sailable, but you'll often get away with more.

3. There are waves on the sea front. They can get up to mast high, but are usually about 2 foot in 6m weather, 4 foot in 5m weather, and up to 6 foot in 4m weather. SW winds kick up the biggest waves, NW's generally produce easier wave-sailing conditions.

4. Park anywahere, Lifeboat Station, By the toilets in the middle of the beach, the Golf Course Car Park (2.1m Height Restriction) on on the sands in the estuary... The only place to avoid is the soft sand in the estuary!!!

5. Easterlies are fine. Saturday saw a solid 40 knot day! We often get early morning Easterlis of 20-25 knot winds when everywhere else is still... even a couple of miles down the road there can be nothing, but the estuary can have 25 knots.
