Merry Xmas everyone from the wind gods!
Are you coming out to play on Saturday? I'm hoping it might be ok from noon when the tide has gone out a bit.
It is looking good for this afternoon, but I'm not sure if I'll have time in between swimming, collecting a guinea pig and watching the
hobbit... Maybe tomorrow afternoon?
Al.
I generally fit plenty of swimming in while windsurfing
I'm visiting family on Sunday but Monday is also looking possible if it doesn't go too wild before it gets colder on Tuesday.
Where has the wind gone today?!
Gusting to 35 knots or so here now, but getting dark as well.
Monday afternoon could be OK for me, although I need to swim in the morning and then do a final shop for supplies before Xmas as well..
Should have time for a session in the afternoon though as I can cycle indoors in the evening if needs be... Gotta burn off some
calories before the feast begins.
Al.
Make that gusting to 62.6 knots!!!! The biggest gust recorded here since records began.
I think we may have lost ALL of our garden furniture, dustbins and water butts etc though. I'm too scared to go out and check!
Al.
Wow! I thought the wind was picking up when it was getting dark but it was too late by then. Looking at the chart it looks like just
one massive gust. I hope you find your garden furniture when it's safe to go outside!
As for Monday, who knows what the wind will do. It didn't match the forecasts today.
might get windier with xmas sprouts on the menu!!
Just about to go out to the car to head to the beach ... but I think I'll wait for this downpour to stop. Or I could put the wetsuit
on to get to the car!
Did you manage to get into the water Alistair? I may be going tomorrow afternoon between 1sh and 2 ish with the only concern being the cold!!
I left when the rain stopped and got to the beach about 1:30 after driving through a heavy shower. It was dry and a good 30mph cross
shore but there was still hardly any beach and absolutely nobody around. I had some tea while a light shower went through wondering
whether to give it a go or not but the wind had dropped to 20mph and turned much more onshore so I thought it best not to go out if the
conditions were rather variable and not even a dog walker to rescue me. So I went home for a wet and muddy big ride.
I'm not sure about tomorrow, as you say it is supposed to be a bit colder and the tide is later. I don't know ifv the estuary would be
any good. I had planned to sail today and give tomorrow a miss. But if someone can convince me it will be good tomorrow ...
Thanks for the details Alistair. I will leave you a message here if I decide to go It is definitively not the best of the feeling when not even dogs walkers are around on the beach..I have experienced it few times!
I am going down to Ynyslas..bit cold but I may give it a go

I'll come and have a look too.
A bit too windy on Tuesday - gusting to 60 mph and feeling chilly. Tides are better for Friday morning if it's not too windy again!
