Wind for the weekend
justal - 5-10-2009 at 09:54

Early days yet, but Friday and Saturday are looking pretty tasty wind-wise again.

Keep those finger crossed.

Looks like another DIY Sunday, how much DIY can a man take?

Loxley - 8-10-2009 at 12:00

It will be a 'no show' for me this weekend. Went to casualty on Tuesday morning in fair degree of pain. Seems I have Shin Splints. Think it sounds worse than it is, but basically quite painful to drive as its my right leg that is suffering and also not recommended to do anything energetic for a week or so until it settles down.

So a weekend at home for me.

Spooker - 8-10-2009 at 16:23

shin splints eh?

nothing energetic for week or too eh?

Well I suppose it beats the "not tonite Debs - I've got a headache" routine

Friday looking promising further North = might take meself off to BRS for the day

folks, I'm pretty new to all this (to put it mildly). assuming the wind does do anything useful for the weekend, where in the vastness of west wales do u head? Borth? I'm assuming.

I like the site by the way - very cool.

Hi Ronan,
People tend to go to a few places, so keep an eye on the forums to see where they are going. Likely spots or Borth (Ynyslas actually). Either in the estuary if the wind is from the East or on the seafront at the northern end of the beach. Most people park in the Gold Course Car Park by the Ynyslas junction, wlthout I walk across with my kit on a wheel-barrow!

Sometimes people head to Aberdovey instead or they may go further north to Black Rock Sands, depending on the forecast and how they feel. There is usually someone out at all of these spots though.

Current forecast has not much wind on Saturday, but possibly some earlier on on Sunday.

Thanks Al.

I think I'll head west Sunday then - much and all as I love Worcester I could do with a day by the sea. If the wind plays ball so much the better! I'll be the short bearded one with the black C3 that's totally unsuited to taking to the seaside, and the still-clean kiteboard that keeps falling apart!

You can't beat a day at the beach!

I may not see you as I might be at the Aberystwyth Twin Peaks Challenge, but I'm sure there will be plenty of other people about. Have a good one.

Looking good out there now.... Averaging 19 knots, gusting to 26 and wall to wall sunshine.

Bit late in the day though.

mNeil - 12-10-2009 at 07:37

well what a good weekend it turned out to be!!!!!!! sat a ride into borth on the bikes and a few pints in the friendship; good to see Mike still alive behind the bar although his new method of washing whats left of his hair in Mazola left a bit to be desired. a return to wind and out on the 20 mtr in sunshine.
sunday the rain clearing at about 12 and the wind and sun kicked in about 1.30 a good 3 to 4 hours on the water!!!!!!!

bucski - 12-10-2009 at 09:27

And there was me, followed the wind forecast (went to Red Wharf bay) which said more wind on Anglesey on Sunday and as it turned out there was more wind in Borth! Shucks.

Fart Boy - 12-10-2009 at 18:25

I shot down to Brean as there was a big tide with 20 plus knots. Unfortunately my waist harness decided to let go while in a nice jump which made things a little entertaining for a while. Had to resort to the old Dakine seat job. Still a good sail overall though. M5 was a S*** on the way back though.

bucski - 12-10-2009 at 19:00

Sounds like you're taking after Col with the harness antics, are you going to start munching lots of pies too?

Fart Boy - 13-10-2009 at 16:59

Depends on what pies
