at last hope of a windy weekend
and a few days after !
fingers crossed then that it hold up !
If not its more M.T.B bashing of bike and myself ..
And finally BWA* bootsale n02 this Sun .
Yep, looking good at the mo...
I shall be here in Borth as I have a party to go to Saturday night and a 3 yr olds party on Sunday afternoon... But otherwise I'll
hopefully be trying out my new 4.5m sail!
Al.
Uh oh.... Saturday isn't looking as good as it was now and even Sunday's wind is less than originally forecast. I hope it isn't one of
those phantom forecasts just to get us all excited.
Al.
another of them early will it, wont it , forcasts
think i,ll get the bike ready just in case.
Things are looking a little more promising again now.... I'll tell you what Kelvin, do us a favour and make some definite plans to go
biking, plans that you can't get out of. That way there is bound to be some wind for us!
Al.
Hmmmm.... Will it? Won't it??
Al.
How is it in S. Wales kelvin??
Just had a call from Shem in Westward Ho and it is only 6 knots there... We have about 15 here but that has dropped from around 20
earlier this morning... Looks as though we could be moutnain biking today and hoping for wind tomorrow.
Al.
another one of them build your hope up weeks ,
which amout to sod all !
i,d be really depressed if office bound all week and this was my only chance !
looks bit wet for mtn riding though as well ?
It wasn't wet here yesterday and there was almost enough wind... Looks OK now though, gusting to 30 knots, I'm just waiting for it to
get light.
Al.
Come on..... What time does it get light, the wind is dropping of already and I've been sitting here for an hour waiting for a glimmer
of daylight...
No doubt the wind will start to ease off soon.
Al.
same here ! but is humping it down
prob going ti end up at newton nice an early ,
tides on way out though , which aint the best .
Loads of rain here this morning too and with the tide too high we didn't bother in the end... Glad we didn't as the wind swung around
to the NW and dropped off to nothing.
It is filling in a gain now though.... Back to SW and averaging 18 knots.
Al.
well all the casts where saying early was best so set the alarm for 7.30
BRRRRRRRRIIINNNNNNGGGG get's up and sh*t forgot about the hr off
its 6.30 am
check the wind stats and its blowing good
so gets out really early , phone a few yokels on way to Porthcawl ,
wakes the lazy gits up with a come on its going off , oh by the way its 7am .....
Gets to Newton bay Porthcawl and on the water before 8am .
Its high tide and some some waves breaking so goes 5.2m and chango wave .
Soon joined by a few more of the mobb who got the early call
Tide started to pull out and waves got better annd soon few more locals turned up , wind continued to build and a bit more downhaull
was required on the 5.2m ezzy to keep control , Jamie came in and re-rigged a 4.7m .
Coastgaurd was then in active mode bringing someone with a broken uj back into bay . By 11am it was quite busy but most where getting
battered by the waves on kit which was basically to big , see one poor sod on 135l with what looked like a 4.2m . Wind started to ease
after 11am but the little session just as it was dropping was the best for wave riding , the swell /wave just cleaned up with nice
smoooth water between the sets but after 30 mins it died to sod all .... AS FORCAST.
Wrapped up went to bootsale for while , kicked some tires , then oooo looks like its picked back up a tad .
Back to the knap then for round 2 ! , very light wind but about 6 of us give it a go planning on 6m but tide pushing really hard , but
finished off a good day ..
Best day for last couple wks anyways
