Weekend 1st sept?
firebuoy - 29-8-2007 at 09:50

Who's out this weekend? Got a nice westerly forecast! Along with low tide for the afternoon.

Si_B - 29-8-2007 at 12:29

Would prefer it if the forcast was showing 12knots rather than 10. Really want to try out the new kite, but 10 knots is getting close to not enough wind for a big bugger like myself.

Typical really, had a wasted drive a couple of weeks back when the conditions were just a tad to extreme.......you can't win

Cheers,

Simon

the wind is always seems to be stronger on the coast and if it's a sunny day the wind also seems to pick up throughout the day. I guess I'm lucky enough to be living in Aber.

justal - 29-8-2007 at 17:58

Yep, the seabreezes have been pretty good all this week so far with the wind filling in to around 20 knots at about 3pm, peaking around 4.30pm and then gradually easing as evening approaches... COuldn't have been better this afternoon, wall to wall sunshine, 20-25 knots, nice flat water and even some girls to gybe around!

Not sure if it will last til the weekend though as the second part of the week looks a little cloudier so the sea-breeze won't be anywhere as pronounced... Unless of course the clouds clear.

Sounds like you had a cracking time Al. My afternoon was spent stuck in the office all day!

firebuoy - 30-8-2007 at 10:38

How did I know as soon as I make some plans to have a full weekend of kting the wind is forecast to be crap!

justal - 30-8-2007 at 11:02

The forecast doesn't look 'that' bad.... You just never know what might happen.

justal - 30-8-2007 at 11:31

For a start it is blowing 25-30 knots here at the mo.... Now that wasn't forecast!

firebuoy - 30-8-2007 at 11:33

I'm coming up!

justal - 30-8-2007 at 11:45

It's gusting to more than 30 knots now.... and the sun is shining.

Will try and make the day trip on Sunday if I can find a baby sitter, any offers?

justal - 2-9-2007 at 07:30

Looking good at the moment... 16-22 knots.

Not sure if I'll get out though as it is Anna's birthday so I'd better be on 'best husband behaviour' all day.

Wot a epic day. Probably one of the best all Summer. Stoked. Nicely powered on the 10 meter Royal ERA.

Dandine - 2-9-2007 at 15:46

Totally gutted. I knew it would be a great one. What was the Royal like Shem?

shem - 2-9-2007 at 17:22

The Royals sweet. Really solid and smooth, huge power for a 10meter and a fully Stella bar system. Its here to try so give me a shout if you want a blast

mNeil - 2-9-2007 at 18:48

yep sure was good to be back amongst the wind and waves over here at Ynyslas. nicely powered on my model T's...sorry 9mtr yarga (2003)... just thought i would put the year in for graham. nice to see Si.B over on the dark side trying out our waves

Si_B - 2-9-2007 at 20:13

Had a great day, and met some new folk which can't be bad. How you were coping with the gusts on your C kite Neil, I don't know. My bar was going from full power to full depower on a couple of occasions.

Feel absolutely knackered, but great fun in the waves. Might put the old impact vest back on. Took some hard slams today.

Even got the directional out for 30 minutes, but came in as I was just too tired. Must learn to gybe it at some point.

Top day.

Simon
