I've just been looking at www.gps-speedsurfing.com and was going to record my speed session today, but how do people work out what all their average speeds were using a standard GPSr... My Garmin eTrex only tells me my top speed and average speed for the whole session.

The data entry system at gps-speedsailing wants to know all of the following:
Max. 2 sec. (software)
100 m run
250 m run
500 m run
Nautical mile
1 hour

Has anyone got any ideas about the software needed to find such things and how to connect my GPSr to my computer to extract such data??

Hi Al
Not sure what software you need, but maplin do the cables to connect to the pc

Cool.. although a little expensive as I will have to get a serial to USB adapter as well... I think I can pick up a cable such as that from ebay though and then track down some software that I'll be able to use.

I had a search around on the GPS-speedsurfing site and found some info about various software packages, although support for a Mac looked a little dodgy!
