Look out on the BBC

Just read on the BBC website that they have an all new singing and dancing 'on-screen identity'. The bad news (for Al) is that the dancing is going (he'll miss keeping an eye out for thedancer's knickers!) and being replaced by some kites, surfing action and hippos. They also say that footage has been shot around the world including Borth so we'll have to keep an eye out. I'm assuming the hippo and surf shots aren't from Borth!

Look in the gallery in Annas link and it states its Turbulence and its all static flying.

I was there when they filmed it. Basically, they flew red kites over the dunes and filmed those. I walked past with my parents and they told us what they were doing.

They've just been talking about them on Breakfast and showed a few of the clips... Not the Ynyslas one unfortunately, but most people have been complaining about the BBC spending £1.2m on these rather than spending it on real programmes.

Personally I quite like the little clips between programmes, but £1.2m is a lot of money and the new clips seem to be a little OTT on the special effects.

I wouldn't think the Ynyslas one could be very exciting, all I saw was a lot of red static flying.

Theres photos, etc on the flexi site. 14 guys from turbulence, North wales, came down to fly the kites for them. Shame they didnt ask the massive hey, ya could all have been famous. Certanly a good advert for kite surfing in Ynys las any way!!

I've seen it now.... Looks OK, but as with the others I'd prefer it if the whole thing was real rather than computer enhanced.
