Airstream Photoshoot, Ynyslas, 11/12 Aug
ajdesq - 27-7-2006 at 21:45

Hey all,

You know the iconic Airstream 'Silver Bullet' travel trailers from the US of A? Well, they're making a UK version, and guess who has the FIRST live-in road-test of said £35k dream machine? Yup, me!

And a Nissan Navara to tow it with!

More at airstream.com/europe

So for a photoshoot for my magazine ('Caravan', don't get too excited) I want to do a surfy-type 'lifestyle' photoshoot during the evening of Friday 11th or Sat 12th August on the sands at Ynyslas. That weekend will probably also mark my first forays onto the water since tearing the ligament in my ankle a couple of weeks ago...

So if anyone else is up for a weekend, and a chance to nosey at the 'Stream and star in a cover shoot, just be there!

Cheers,

Andrew

I'll be there Andrew, not sure I want to wipe-out what little beach-cred I have by being in a photoshoot for 'Caravan' though!!!

Lets hope there's some wind.

Never mind the street cred, what about publicising FoN? No bribery, you understand...

Funnily enough, I was all cued up to go onto Radio 2's Jeremy Vine show this week to argue the case of 'cool caravanning' (freedom, independence, no timetable, comfort, Airstreams, still have the van for boards & motorbike etc etc) and get people to open their minds a bit. But what did they do? Choose the stereotypical boring nerd who ticked all the traditional 'boring' boxes and 'run out of time' before they got to me. Grr

On the Sunday we want to go to a Biker's meeting place nearby to get some fun shots of 20-stone Harley-types beeking in through the windows of the Airstream. Does anyone have any idea where bikers congregate between Borth/Bala/Angelsey?

Cheers,

A

Andrew.... What time will you be arriving on Friday? Looks as though there could be the chance of a windsurf session in the afternoon.

Not sure where the bikers will be, but if the sun is shining there will be loads of them on the seafront in Aber... All parked up by Kon-Tiki sunning their leathers.

Leaving Warwick Friday morning post-traffic. Will certainly be up for an afternoon sesh. I also have my New (to me) GK Sonics I've not yet flown yet, so want to try that out over the weekend if conditions allow.

If there's no wind I'll stop off at Nant-yr-Arian (or however you spell it) instead for a spot of MTBing. Will be in touch nearer the time. Getting very excited!
