Hi, I am in need of a little advice...
Iam fairly new to the addictive world of Kite Surfing and i am having a few problems with my kite, namely its flying backwards when
trying to come out of the figure 8 manouver at the bottom of the turn. I have been told in brief this is caused because my control
lines on the end of the bar are too short, i have tried adjusting but to no avail. This may be a stupid question but do all four lines
need to be the same length? I ask this as i bought the bar and lines seperately from a none reliable source (cheap from the paper). I
have taken them all off to measure and would appreciate any advice regarding the lengths i should be looking for and should they all be
the same length, oh its a 12m kite.
Thanks in advance
Yep, they should all be the same length.
Al.
solution could be to put some pig tails on the rear attatchment points on the kite
If the kite's going backwards then it's definately set up wrong. This usually happens in light winds when the set up is for max power.
You'll need to de-power slightly on the control strop (Shorten your front lines), or else push the bar away from you, let the kite
gain forward speed and then sheet in again.
Try shortening you your front lines. There are many ways of doing this. Ring me if you need more info...
