The week ahead, from Sept 12th
justal - 12-9-2005 at 07:06

Right then, here we go again... I wonder what the weather gods will throw at us this week.

At the moment it looks as though there could be some wind from the SW tomorrow (Tuesday).... I won't be able to get out until the evening unless I can find a helpful babysitter!

Then there is a possiblity for Weds and a better possibility of some more wind on Thurs and at the moment Friday is looking quite good with a decent low pressure system hitting the UK and tracking across the North Sea to give us some Northerly winds... The weather patterns this week are driven by the remnants of hurricanes (first hurricane Maria and then hurricane Nate) though so once again these medium range forecasts are subject to major changes as the models aren't usually too good at predicting the movements of hurricane remnants. (according to Metcheck)

So once again, it is all up in the air (literally) and we may or may not get some wind!!

Well, as predicted not much wind today but the surf is beginning to build and looks as though it should be bigger for tomorrow and Wednesday too:

Surf Forecasts for Borth.

Still looks as though there might be some wind around which may mess up the surf but should be enough for kiting... I have to look after Morgan all day tomorrow, so might go out for an early morning surf before Anna gets up and then out for a kite / windsurf in the evening.... If the weather plays nicely.

Looking further ahead, things still look pretty good for Friday.. Maybe some mad NE's in the estuary??
The tides are getting pretty big by then though so timing will be critical!

Here it comes..... The surf was good this morning but backed off considerably by 8am, but now the wind is filling in... From the SW and about 15 knots at the momnet, but increasing.

I can't get back out until about 5.30pm now though...

15 knots eh? keep an eye open for a green cabrinha later this afternoon then......

unless it goes over 20 then it'll be an orange and black thingy

so, when will you teaching morgan how to land and launch for you.....?

How was it out there then??? Where's your diary enry Spooker... I could see you kite out yesterday afternoon, along with Chris, Larry and Derek. I decided against it in the end despite the wind being good... Well, a rest day now and then doesn't do any harm!

Ye - need to get down to this diary thing - next time!
Only bout 8-10 knots when I arrived at 3, but I knew if I stood in the water with me kite long enough it would pick up. 14m weather for me all afternoon, tho very gusty. Ended up playing tag with Larrys dog in the shallows (have to work my way up to jumping him like Col) - 4 of us just cruising up and down as the sun set - excellent!

Still looking good for Friday... NE's so it'll be a flat water session in the estuary and high tide is around 7.30am... Might have to get out for a dawny if anyone is around??
