You ain't gonna believe this!
Out on the estuary with the mad eel, major current running, not much wind end up at end of sand spit ( towards aberdyfi), big gust, so
I get the kite low and it catches the water, leading edge down.
I lose the board off my feet, and it catches the current and is gone. Not enough time to relaunch the kite before it gets to the shore
and by the time I have recovered kite, board is well and truely gone round the point, towards dyfi and out.
I walked back to the car only to find that my hanacrew board, which I had left sticking up in the sand, had been stolen!!
A guy saw two young lads walking off with it. Asked around but no joy.
If anyone finds the madeel board, I would be real grateful , it's 155 and solid carbon.
The hanacrew board is a nemesis model and is 120 x 40. Please let me know if you hear of one being sold.
Thanks
tim
I'll keep an eye out for it.... Was this yesterday??
Al.
thanks Al, it was today (Thursday) around midday ish
Ok... I was gonna say it looked a bit mad for kiting yesterday!
Unfortunately with the tide going out at midday and the offshore winds, it could be a while before it comes back to shore. Amazed that
the other board was nicked though.... b*st*rds!
Al.
yeah, it's unreal eh? And the thing is a guy who was parked next to me watched it being nicked!
He gave me a description ( two young lads) but didn't say anything to them despite watching me arrive on my own.
deepest sympathy about the mad eel; and also very sorry about the chopping board.
joking aside tim drop a line to adam at turbulence and craig at the pewthwelli ( cnat get these ******* spellings) and post on any
other site you can think of.
good note paul is starting on your board tomorrow.
till then you can borrow my 145 if you wish.
regards neil
Sorry to hear about both your boards goin in one day! Cant really think of the type of person who woulda nicked your board from the estuary but whoever it is needs the shit kicking out of them. Only type of people I can think of is someone from the uni or 2arseholes who have travelled to borth for the day. Ive text my mate Tim whos a kite flyer from the uni to look out for the Hanacrew board and also about ur mad eel. Keep a lookout on ebay.
Ive spread the word at Aberdyfi, evry board that Ive known to be lost throught he estuary has come back to shore, however when mine
went it took 6 hours to surface, the longest I heard of was 5 weeks!! X fingers.
Gutted!!!!!!
cheers for the offer of the board neil, good to hear Paul will start on new one today.
thanks johnny for the help
and cheers shem for spreading the word and keeping an eye, lets just hope my board does the same as the others.
I actually dreamt last night that the police had found my board only to then tell me it wasn't mine after all!! Stuff of nightmares eh!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I can't believe you've had a board nicked,
It might be worth keeping am eye on then waterskiers in the estuary, they might think its a wakeboard.
I hope they both show up
Dunk
Trouble it, it is half term, so there could be all sorts of 'undesirables' hanging around I guess. Looks as though we are going to have
to start being a little more vigilant. In the past I've quite often walked across to the beach with two boards, two kites and then gone
out on my own and left the others on the beach. Easy pickings I guess for some people, but a shame that we can't leave things hanging
around.
Al.
thanks dunk, unreal bad luck eh!
I agree with you Al, its a shame we can't just all be trusting, you shouldn't have to worry about stuff like that.
They'll find out how flexible the board is when I wrap it around their heads, if I catch 'em!
bummer Tim....ive got a board you can borrow, 145 demon of darkness, i should be up that way next sat but i'll speak to you before
then...
i'm sure the washed out to sea one will turn up i lost one before it turned up 3miles away perfect nick , wasn't at borth though...
cheers for that col, I think it was a demon of darkness who took my other board!
Have been praying to the wave gods to return my other board safely.
