After a brief holiday in Cornwall my Mum and Dad came back and informed me that they had been informed of a jelly fish problem in the
UK seas (probably by a drunk they met met in a pub ) which included a
lot of sightings of the nasty Lions Mane Jelly Fish.
I didn't take much notice of this as they aren't the most sea loving people and I thought to myself they probably didn't know what they
were talking about.
However it looks like their drunken informer might have been on to something!

lions mane are not deadly but as an ex fisherman know if you get them in your eye or up your nose or anywhere on your face you will know all about it
What do the Lion's Mane jellyfish look like?
We went to Westward Ho! today [rockpooling and watching the kitesurfers, not sailing] and there were loads of jellyfish washed up. Just
little ones with a kind of browny/maroon stripe on them and around the edge of the main body. Also, loads of satsuma sized comletely
clear ones.
Just thought I'd mention it in case it was relevant.
