Big Event
Shaka - 5-2-2004 at 13:24

Al/Anna,

Ive just entered some dates on the calendar and noticed the big date in July2004.

Congratulations - anywhere nice for the honeymoon?

Al,
Long range forecast for Borth in July is light offshore breezes with a good sized swell in the morning and then cross shore F5 winds, peeling 5ft faces and sun for the afternoon. Oh and some lovely sunsets - ha ha!

I hope its not windy on the day

(Anna - sorry for the above but my girlfreind gives me grief about our wedding plans and what would I do if its windy)

all the best
shaka

justanna - 5-2-2004 at 16:17

I've taken it all into account! We're getting amrried late in the day so that Al can do all his windsurfing in the morning! I am slightly worried that he might turn up in his wetsuit or his red speedos dripping wet but I should be used to that by now.....not too sure what my family would think though!

Dave - 5-2-2004 at 17:09

I have now conjured up a picture of Al in a morning suit with Seaweed in his lapel. and still wearing his helmet...

justal - 5-2-2004 at 21:10

Cheers Shaka.... looks as though you will be in borth while we're on our honeymoon.. Typical.

I am hoping to get in the water on the morning of the BIG DAY though, whether it be windsurfing, kitesurfing or surfing, it'll be cool to do it. I'll probably still have water dribbling out of my nose during the ceremony!!

What are you letting yourself in for Anna!!

Al.

Spencer - 5-2-2004 at 22:32

Congatulations to you both. Have you picked a venue yet ie. is it a long sandy thing with water washing up? that way you could sail straight up to the ceremony
Spence...

justal - 6-2-2004 at 07:02

LOL... I wish!

Its not actually on the beach, but the ceremony will probably be only 50 yds or so from the seafront!

Maybe I should wear my wetsuit under my suit and then do a quick 'superman style' change and jump into the surf during the photos.

The beach wedding would be good, sand and water between your toes - very nice, quite romantic aswell (trying to sell it to Anna)

Getting out on the water in the morning would be quite cool -I think we all understand that water running out of your nose feeling. Usually happens to me when im derigging and bending down - it actually feels quite nice when the water falls out. I dont think it will impress the vicar that much if as you bow your head and loads of sea water comes out of your nose - haha excellent - I can see his face now.

Are you getting married in the church behind Borth, the one that seems to sit on its own in the field - its quite impressive with the wind bent trees surrounding it.

It is a shame we wont be able to catch up - I'm sure there will be other times - I will have to try & make more visits in the winter, although I have been quite lucky with the wind over the past 2 summers.

justal - 10-2-2004 at 07:29

The church does look nice, but we're getting married in aberystwyth as it makes things a little easier for all the family who will have to travel from Bristol and the Isle of Man. We're trying not to go too over the top, but there still seems to be a lot to plan!!!

The Honeymoon hasn't been sorted yet, so we'll probably still be around on the Sunday so you never know we might manage to catch up, especially if theres some wind. Mind you, last time I went on holiday (a few years ago now) I went windsurfing just before going and managed to tear a ligament in my knee... Couldn't get to the doctors until we got back from the holiday, so just had to hobble around Iceland for a few days.

Al,
"probably still be around on the Sunday so you never know we might manage to catch up, especially if theres some wind". Your responsibilities as Groom don't finish when you walk out of the registry office. Who's making the bacon and eggs?

What the hell - hope to join you on that Sunday

Looks as though we have decided on The Outer Hebrides for the honeymoon!

Now all I have to do is persuade Anna to let me put a new wave board on the wedding list and I'll be sorted!!

Anna,

I'm afraid it looks like a force6 WSW at the moment so we might have to take Al's boards away and lock them in the van ;-)

Hi Anna, hi Al,

congratulations! Hope you have a really good time ahead of you together. Best wishes for the future.

So what is the plan in starting a family? Or am I being too nosy here?

Joe
