I'm little wave sailor wanna be but any condition is great as windsurfing is my passion! I'll be visting Aberystwyth 2 weekends over
May 2012 and hope to hit the water around 5pm saturday and Sunday maybe even Friday if i can get there before sunset. Is anyone out
there to sail with me? Give me do's and don'ts? Maybe pint aftersurf? If yes let me know. Can I or is it allowed to sail from the Sea
front? I have B&B booked there. Any tips you can give me would be grea! Thank you very much!

You can sail from the seafront, but if you have a car you'll probably be better taking the short drive North to Borth and Ynyslas and
sailing there. Aberystwyth seafront is OK but it is fairly sheltered so everyone sails at Borth and Ynyslad instead.
There are a number of places to sail in Borth and Ynyslas (check the
Beachguides) depending on the wind direction and the
waves will likely be better off the seafront in Borth than they are in Aber too. Borth has a 4 mile long sandy beach so is pretty safe
as well and if its windy you are likely to find a few other people out - Especially if you post here first to remind us, I'm sure we'll
join you.
Have fun!

Guess what.. found B&B in Borth sea front and aiming to squuze Friday sunset sail and Sat and Sunday 5pm sail if windy. Any takers? I think my B&B is on south end of the beach and I can park there. Is it good place to launch and is there anything me to be aware of? Thank you so much for help so far.
The south end of the beach won't be great for windsurfing anymore because of the new 'reefs' I guess you could sail there still but it
will depend on the wind direction, ot you could launch to the north of them.
You can sail from the middle of the beach opposite the train station and there is a nice grassy rigging area there, or you can head
North to Ynyslas and sail with other people off the seafront. Park at the northern end of the Car Park accessed through the gate by the
grassy triangle at the junction in Ynyslas and launch from there. Or, if the wind is E-NE then launch from the estuary.
There isn't too much in the way of dangers - just the usual sailing on the see / alone type thing and there can be some strong currents
in the estuary.
Unfortunately it doesn't look as though there will be any wind until Monday now.
Let us know how you get on.

Oh dear wind is not really lookng good.. I will bring my Minimal surf board with me and hope to have some waves Friday evening. What
would be the best for surfing is it also on north or front of the train station?
What is likely hood thermal winds?
I'm staying in pebbles b&b and after surf dinner would be great to have in Borth. Anyone could recommend where to eat?
Thank you!
Sorry, thought you were coming last weekend!
Surf will most likely be better at the Southern end of the beach, or immediatley in front of Pebbles if you can't be bothered to walk.
It does look as though there might be some wind about on Sunday afternoon, so you never know.
Also, with a NW forecast for Saturday and some decent temperatures a light seabreeze could kick in, although I doubt very much that it
will come to much.

estimate 5.30 wetsuite on and surfing if wIND IS gone. any tips where to eat? thank u!
There isn't a huge amount of choice in Borth as far as places to eat go.
Limit Cafe for breakfast,
Borth Tandoori if you fancy a curry,
Railway for evening meal.
Mind you, I don't eat out in Borth that much so others may have better suggestions?

Nice one - It did look pretty good - and for added bonus the sun was shining!
Al.
Golf course car park again - Looks good for the afternoon. I doubt if I'll be around until 5pm though as I have to give a presentation
to the Beekeeping Association in the afternoon.

Looked good while I was running this evening. Gusting to 30 knots all afternoon. Would've been perfect with my little wave board and
4.5m.
Can't win 'em all I suppose... Too many other things to do.
