Good to see some new members here... The body-boarding section seems to be getting quite busy these days.

Welcome to Forces-of-Nature!

Hope you have a good time in Cornwall.

Al.

yeh should be good surf soon down here august - september is meant to be best from what ive heard

Sole - 13-8-2005 at 10:54

Cool, thanks for that Al. I'm pretty new to bodyboarding as well, considering that in Bournemouth the waves are never huge, although I've had my Manta for about 3 years, I can't get down to the beach all that easily with it and the waves are always rubbish. Ah well, I'm hoping to learn a little in Cornwall. Maybe visit Rob Barbers school - have you been there?

klain - 13-8-2005 at 11:00

nope ive only went to one surf school in polzeath thats my favourite beach but if you want the best waves in cornwall i suggest you go nroth coast from now till september there quite big its quite good in the winter as well i like the rough waves 6ft if your lucky in the winter

Sole - 13-8-2005 at 11:03

Thats pretty high . . . are there many shops to buy fins and stuff in cornwall - cos I don't have any fins at the moment (you dnt rly need them in b-mouth) but Im hopefully getting some today - whats the most I should spend as a beginner and what do you think are the best make?

klain - 13-8-2005 at 11:06

there are loads where about are you going to stay?

Sole - 13-8-2005 at 11:07

Leedstown, but the closest 'beachy' town is St Ives. Where abouts are you?

klain - 13-8-2005 at 11:12

um you've probably never heard of it its a very small town called camelford google it it comes up its the one with the green clock tower

its a very weird place heh

klain - 13-8-2005 at 11:16

only trouble is we have to drive to get anywhere but the good thing is were only like 5 miles from the coast.

So yeh i suggest you go to fistral then go to polzeath just to see the difference

Thanks a lot! Wont be posting for 2 weeks now bye!

klain - 13-8-2005 at 20:11

ok cool and good waves!

justal - 13-8-2005 at 20:57

I worked at Polzeath one year and had some epic days surfing there. It's just as good as Fistral but not quite as crowded... It still gets too busy for my liking though.

klain - 13-8-2005 at 20:59

justal - 13-8-2005 at 21:00

On the beach... as a lifeguard.
