Not a bad day today really. First of all I ordered some new toys from Gun:
5m Impact Wave sail
400cm C75 mast
150-200cm Wave Boom
35cm extension
Mast Pad
Boom bumper
Harness Lines
It might even all arrive before Xmas, and didn't do too much damage to my credit card either.
Then the wind filled in and I had a mad maxed out session on my 4.5m and wave board.
Its now blowing a hoolie out there, and if it lasts thtoughout the might there'll be more of the same for me tomorrow!
Did anyone get out anywhere??
Has anyone had any snow yet??

I whimped out today it was chucking it down with rain all morning and couldn't face getting soaked while loading up the car
Grrrr... Had a crap day today:
It looked good, then the wind dropped when I went windsurfing and I ended up ripping two panels on my 5.7m. The wind dropped to about
10 knots so out came my Blade and mountainboard, and guess what, up went the wind to 20+ knots again!
Don't you just hate days like that.
Al.
Ye intresting wind today, especially when the dog attact me, my safety got twisted and I got dragged 400 yds, and managed to stop 2 meters before the last groyne. With a large brown trout parked in my grots!! NICE_NOT!!

I took my Wave board into Blue Chip - The Gun Sails shop - the other day. They know Al in there. The kindly proprietor wasn't the slightest bit surprised to hear that I dinged my board whilst sailing with - you guessed it - Al. I think they see Al with a certain fondeness in the Gun Sails shop, although I also think they count their lucky stars that they only have one customer who trashes guaranteed kit like him, otherwise they'd never make any money...

I spoke to Brian at Gun sails this morning... My 5.7m sail has been repaired and is winging its way back to me now... He did mention
the fact that although the sail was only 18 months old it looked as though it had had 5 years use!!
He also said that really the sail wasn't covered under the warranty as it looked as though it had some impact damage, but they repaired
it under the warranty for me anyway.

Hurray... My sail is back at last. I haven't checked the repair yet, but hopefully its Okay and hopefully I'll get chance to use it on
Friday!!
Also got a nice new harness with it, which is handy seeing as I snapped mine on Sunday!

Al, how do you handle the sub zero temps if you are sailing this time of year?. I've got a cut off of 8 degrees after 3 winters in NE
Scotland standing in agony as the hot-aches kick in, up to 3 times in one sailing session.
Gloves made my arms cramp up even with the palms cut out. I came to the conclusion that the buzz was far out weighed by the discomfort
and set my temperature cut off.
It doesn't really worry me. I always wear a hood, but don't bother with gloves. I find that as long as my body is warm my hands are OK.
I have started wearing a 6/5/4mm Semi Dry suit this year, but up until then I always jst wore a 5/3mm steamer and over the last couple
of years a crap one at that. I do put a neoprene rashvest under it and my hood is built into another 2mm vest so that my core has quite
a thickness of neoprene on it.
My face sometimes hurts due to the cold and I do of course occcassionally end up with my hands in agony, but usually only when I stop.
I hasn't got cold enough yet to stop me going out!!
Loads of people seem to have a temperature cut off at around 8-10¬?C though... If I did that I'd only get out half the amount I do
now.
