lost rig

Question for al I noticed you had to ditch a rig last week and the insurers were looking into it, is this sort of thing covered? as I had to ditch mine today. Had a look at my policy and it states covered for loss damage or theft does ditching a rig count as loss?

I guess it all depends on your insurers and their policies on such things.... As far as I know then yes, my policy does cover me for such things. Theres a little dispute at the moment though because my policy expird the day before the accident and my renewal documents were lost in the post due to the postal strike.

I'll let you know what happens.

What happened to you? why did you have to ditch your rig?

Al.

20 mph forecast but only about 10 went out anyway on a 7.4, next thing I know 35 or thereabouts and over powered hung about for 5 mins but next stop was Norway. Dismantled rig but could'nt keep it on the board so no choice, one and a half hours paddleing to get back to the beach

Just of the phone to insurers who say that they will cover me, just need to get receipts now.

Cool... Thats handy, especially as they could easily have said that it was your own fault for not taking notice of weather forecasts or something.

I still haven't heard anything about mine, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
