What a buy!

I just bought a 2004 Tushingham Lightning 8.5, used twice for £175! Superb stuff. ought to get going in a fair bit less wind than the Heckler and be faster. Summer sea-breeze season here we come!

Happy daze!

Not much use for today though..... Its pretty gruesome out there at the moment... I can't actually tell the difference between the sea and the air as theres so much rain.... Might give it a miss today and do some work instead.... but then again, it IS windy!!!

Summer winds actually sound quite invoting at the moment...No doubt come July we'll be dying for some mad winter winds again.

I know, great isn't it!
I wish that I could drop everything, drive 2 mins and get in the sea like you do, but unforntunaly I live too far away. Until I make the change, big kit to maximise time on the water is the way forward!

I agree Wes, I keep thinking of selling my big kit because its just not as much fun as small kit.

But then again when you only get occasional days free to sail you need all the kit you can get, especially when its warm and sunny during the summer... ;-)

Cool,

They're ment to be really stable, I've got an 8 m T-Bird which rocks, I use it on a Hypersonic and it cool for those summer days blastin on the lake.

I had a summer where I only had small kit and missed a lot of days. I know I mostly kite at the coast now, but its nice to get out lunchtime in the summer and be powered up in 8-10 knts. If you sit out the lightwind days your sailing fitness suffers when it starts to blow.

Have fun,

Dunkster

Last year I bought myself an 8.5 T-Bird for a bargin price.

Until I discovered I needed a new Boom to cope with it.

Nevermind - it is a beautiful sail.

Go on..... Make the change!!! You know you want to.... It's certainly worth it. OK, I have no money, but I get lots of time doing the things I like doing best... who needs money!

Oh, and theres nothing wrong with big kit... all toys are good!

You're right, I do want to. Unfortunatly I need to last about 18 more months where I work to cement the career, then its off to the coast for me. Although I think I'll be a south coast nancy, living in the Bournmouth area....

I had a heart attack when i read about the boom size. Luckly I've got one that will cope with about 8cm to spare.

Happy daze!
