Just picked up Septembers windsurf magazine and there is no article on gybing, but there is a pic of rush randle on a windsurfer with a hydrofoil fin

oh no hang on page 86, guy cribb is doing carve gybe tips...........

I thought it was too good to be true.

So, which do you prefer, Boards or Windsurf??... I know they both have virtually identical articles in them, but I'm sure you still have a preference.

Personally I subscribe to Boards, but now that Windsurf has improved its editing might be tempted to change.

it was Windsurf, as for preference I prefer Boards, although the Guy Cribb stuff has been good with Windsurf, but I find the editorial really annoying and often patronising.

On the whole Boards is better for tests, Windsurf mag tests never seem to write bad stuff about kit and it often reads like the manufacturers blurb, maybe they are too scared of offending advertisers.

If I could only buy one it would be boards, but it would be interesting to know how there sales figures compare.

thank goodness for that, I forget how to gybe towards the end of each month, luckily these magazines come through and remind me again

As someone learning to carve gybe myself... OK the mags are helpful, but can it really be that complicated?!

I think it's time that Windsurf stopped paying Peter Hart by the word, or at least EDITED his articles. So much waffle! Guy Cribb's short, clear tips compensate though. And when will Windsurf lern too spel?!!

I guess Boards gets my vote if it came to the crunch. I don't give a hoot about hotshot racers, what's happening on 'the scene' et al, I'd rather see articles about REAL windsurfers in REAL places.

As someone just making the first steps towards the carve , I have read so much stuff, and eventually some of it starts to make sense, I like to see what both Peter Hart and Guy Cribb write; as it helps to understand what they are saying (language and visualisation are not the same thing). There are many things that are the same (MFP & Downforce), but getting different perspectives has helped me to understand. I attended one of Guy Cribb's road shows, and that was well worthwhile.

Anyway I get and read Windsurf, , and find it useful, but I can't make any comparisons.

When the wind starts again I will be out on the estuary practising, which beats reading about it anytime.

It's not all about you guys doing loops and stuff you know!!
