Hi guys,
I originally ordered a Starboard 284 Custom from whitstable Windsurfing but after loads of messing around I decided to cancel the
order. I rang them today and they still hadn't arranged to courier and its been a week! So, after the great service from Riks with my
new mast I rang Keiron at the shop and bought the AHD Freeride 297. It cost £150 inc Stix board bad and 2 fins. I also comes with
free delivery and will be with me Friday!
I think it will be ideal for me as I weigh 92kg and haven't windsurfed for 2 years. There would be no point me buying and expensive
board as I would probabley take the nose off in some bungled chop hop or slam gybe
So I highly recommend them, the board can be seen in the used section:

here's a challenge. Has anyone ever had a bad experience from Riks?
I've been buying kit for years and there are some very good shops out there, but every once in a while they do something that'll piss
you off. But Riks just seem to get it right every time - the guy deserves an OBE for services to windsurfing!
All we need now is for him to start selling other brands.
Riks windsurfing (the ultrasport warehouse !), just looks like a front for the importer to me.
have to agree with the opinions on RIKS - just bought a new excite ride and they were very helpful. bad news is that ive just fractured
my 5th metatarsal bone (foot) and wint be sailing for a while.
if only they sold some other sails (tushingham??) as pryde are quite dear
plus, becky sounds hot.........
Not that I noticed last time I went there, but I can confirm that becka of riks windsurfing is a complete fox.
Just bought a second hand board of them, helpful & freindly service, it should be here tuesday!
What did you get Spencer....I take it a replacement for your flow??
Al.
Guys a new member to your site. Looks pretty good!
I would just like to say that, as one of the team at Riks, I can confirm that becca is a little hotty!
Both Becca and Rik, and Kieran work really hard to make sure that you guys are on the right stuff and that it gets to you without any
problems.
As for the selling of other brands, Rik is a firm believer in being a specialist in what he retails. Being a Neil Pryde fanatic
myself, I see the importance in having a broad and unrivalled awareness of the kit that we have on offer. Hence, every board and rig
that we sell is finely tuned into the type of sailing, type of sailor and conditions that you sail in!
If you want to have a chat to me about any windsurfing kit then please do not hesitiate to contact me at alex@rikswindsurfing.com
Thanks guys and good sailing. There has been some great wind at the mo so get out the 3.7m's and ride to your hearts content.
Alex( Or munch as I am also known)
Justal, after buying that AHD Maui Force i havnt really got the funds for new kit, so looked for another Flow as they are quite cheap,Riks had a Custom Flow for £200 which is well cheap, should be here today.Wolud have liked a newer board-looked for 2nd hand Cross, cheapest i could find on net was 1 for £495,havnt got that at the mo!
Just uwrapped it,to my surprise its got a Stix board bag & a nice 34cm fin, which is cool as ive got a 28 & 30cm already, didnt expect to get all that for £200 delivered? dosnt look at the mo as though there will be enough wind at the weekend?
Have to agree with most of the comments above. After deciding to get back into windsurfing last year after many years off and not being
that good originally I found that things had changed alot and there was much to learn.
I contacted Rik on a recommendation from a friend and the proceeded to hassle him with newbie questions for several weeks on abilities,
types of kit, best combo's etc. and received a detailed and very confident reply on each. I had actually got quite dispondant before I
contacted Rik as most shops wouldnt stay within my budget and just didnt seem that interested.
Rik sorted me out with a package that fitted me well and in the last several months I have leant more than the couple of years when I
was sailing before.
I live in wiltshire and I traveled to the south coast, bristol, maidenhead and online and found Riks was easily the best of the lot. I
even travelled to Cambridge (a fair way!) to meet him and pick up my kit so Kieren could go through rigging step by step (very
patient/knowedgable guy).
They have just moved building and now have even more space to display kit and show it rigged and ready to use.
And no I dont work for them, just was really impressed with the level of knowledge and service and the price was spot as well 10/10
