With light easterly winds forecast for the rest of the week will ivor be making an appearance. If he does i hope it's sunday.
Well, certainly there looks a promise of something on the East coast on Sunday afternoon. With sunshine forecast and a hint of 16-18mph
Northerly, then the Cleethorpes or Bridlington area may be worth a trip for the day.
At least thats only a trip under 2 hours rather than nearer 4 for me to get to Borth.
All being well I shall be over Sunday, in anticipation of Ivor doing his thing.
Unfortunately I don't think it is that likely... Ivor is usually at his best in the spring, but you never can tell.
Al.
What do you think the realistic chances are then? Thinking of heading up early sunday from swansea. Worth a punt for the 2hour drive?
Had an unexpected kite yesterday cametery beach, aberdovey....was cool 20 knots with nice big waves
I'm 50/50 about it now given Al's sage advice
probably the last warm, sunny weekend of the year, so I'm gonna take a chance, and if there's no wind I'll sit in the sun and chill
I'll bring the deckchairs and parasol spooks!
"so I'm gonna take a chance, and if there's no wind I'll sit in the sun and chill"
TRANSLATION
" i shall be once again sitting in side my warm van on a comfy chair wearing a BIG SLIPPER" lol
but they wont be any wind anyway; looking forward to some nice westerlys and big waves next weekend?
ah but are you and Jules not walking around a war-zone in some far off north eastern commune?
Im off to shell tmorow, so at least if ivor goes, Ill have barmouth ivor, fingers xed, but as Al, I doubt it
Narsh words Neil!
South Shields isn't exactly a war-zone! It has a very nice beach in an Easterly...
Looks like a lovely day, but if its wind you're after then you are out of luck at the moment.
Plenty of others things to amuse ourselves with on the beach though.
Al.
Turned into a MOST agreeable day!! 4 of us got out for an hour or more in the estuary this morning - 10-14 knots - nice little sail -
before Ivor dropped and we retired to the deckchairs.
Biked into town for a couple of beers sitting outside the friendship in the sun.
Wind then turned NW and Nick went out on his 16m for a while from the seafront whilst we did more extreme chilling on the deckchairs -
and so warm!!
top day and worth 4 stars
so here they are.... .
As Spooks said, the day was most excellent, I got about 3 hrs on the water in the end, was gusting up to 20knts early on if I could have been bothered to haul my lazy arse out of bed ( cheers for text Neil! ) Went out on the twinnie for a bit then spend rest of time on the skim.
looks like i missed out. Still it wasn't a complete waste as i spent the morning "chasing the dog" at Cannock.
So much for Carpe Diem. Off to El Gouna 25th.

Well you all missed out on Cleethorpes on Sunday then. It may not be the prettiest sea / beach in the world, but was out on the 11m all
day.
Wind was doing 20-25mph no gusts as such, just constant blow. Beach was busy with 20+ kiters and one pole jockey, but it was perfect
cross shore so everyone just picked their line and was cruising in and out.
I finally made it to the league of the 'big air boys' with Debs taking some videos and photos as evidence !
The sun was out for a bit and the water was still warm. All in all a good sunday and only just over an hours drive to get home.
