August - is there wind in Bristol
Rod - 13-5-2008 at 17:18

Can anyone tell me if there is wind in Bristol during August? If so what would be the average wind speed (as in what size kite to bring).

I am from Margaret River OZ and will be there for a few days in August.

Can be good around that time particularly if there is a west component to the wind. The channel acts as a funnel and you can get a doubling effect to the wind.

I have used Weston Super Mare area a bit. Water is a bit muddy on big tides and because of the size of the tides they are only usable about 2 hours either side of high water. After that the beach that is exposed is to muddy to use and dangerous.
