mNeil - 21-2-2006 at 16:32

yep looks like the estuary could be on for saturday and sunday; anyone besides Col coming up?
what are the states of the tides for the weekend Al?
come on someone who wants to go snowboarding over easter?

justal - 21-2-2006 at 16:56

High tides are 6.20pm and 7.10pm 4.2m and 4.6m

I'll probably be up - as Col is bringing so many toys it'd be rude not to
Tide times aren't very friendly again though - certainly not conducive to a lie in on Sunday!
Assuming the wind holds I should be about early sat PM.

Fat Shady - 21-2-2006 at 17:41

Im up for it

I need to get out more

carlessd - 21-2-2006 at 22:05

as per usual ya can count me in neil.

col123 - 22-2-2006 at 09:48

is there going to be enough water to play in!!

one for you Al

justal - 22-2-2006 at 14:06

Yeh, there should be, although there probably won't be at low tide... Just been down there now and it's going ballistic at the moment. Was going to go for a sail with my 3.4m sail and little board but couldn't face getting sand-blasted whilst rigging... And it is minus 2¬?C out there with the wind chill... Might give it a go in a mo if the wind settles down a bit though.

All being well will be in the estuary for Saturday.....

Kitefish - 22-2-2006 at 21:44

Dunno at the mo, sounds as if it could be a bit chilly to me and the Cacutta Cup (rugby) is on. Mind you; could watch the game in Andy B's new Norman if he gets it in time, what say you Andy or should I be asking Kath for permission to board.

mNeil - 23-2-2006 at 08:42

if you're such a wussss you can always sit in big sal and watch it.
is it true then has Andy bought a big norm? wahoooo!!!!!

Spooker - 23-2-2006 at 09:02

Chris,
I should be up sat, but plan to be off the water 5ish in time for THE GAME. I'm sure with all these gin palaces appearing on the beach nowadays we should be assured of some fine hospitality.
PS: better bring your slippers for Andys new shagpile.

shem - 23-2-2006 at 13:05

shem - 24-2-2006 at 14:57

Imtrying to decide wheather to go in or not now, but as theres snow flakes falling and its baltic cold, I think Ill give it a miss!!

chris - 24-2-2006 at 15:19

the wind in the estuary is o.k but bloody cold. gonna drink plenty of beer tonight to fuel up on antifreeze and go out tomorrow.
if the snow on the hills increases whos up for a snow kite tomorrow?

justal - 24-2-2006 at 15:23

Yep, I was gonna go out earlier, but there wasnt really enough wind in the estuary (about 20 knots) and it was pretty miserable down there too...

Maybe tomorrow if the wind sorts itself out properly.

Al.

leonardo - 24-2-2006 at 17:05

definitely not going..too cold

Kitefish - 24-2-2006 at 18:08

Sorry Neil, don't think I will make your birthday party as it's too cold for me and Che (the van). Been on Lake Vyrnwy Mid Wales today for work and the wind cut through me like a knife and the snow wasn't easy to get through either.

So rugby in a nice warm pub or possible kite in freezy bo****ks estuary water coming of the frozen mountains, let me think.... pub. Soz Neil have a nice birthday.

Never know if we get a sudden heat wave may make it for Sunday.

Encee - 24-2-2006 at 18:27

Have just been sledging with my daughter on the Lickey Hills in a really icy wind - so on that basis alone I'm going to give the weekend a miss...............

Brrrrrrrr it's 'taiters out there

col123 - 24-2-2006 at 19:45

wimps i'm going to go for the day, sat that is

justal - 24-2-2006 at 21:05

Me too... if theres wind in the morning I shall be out for a high tide session at first light.

Would like to do a low tide session off the seafront as well but its Morgans 1st birthday so I have to be at home for the afternoon.

Al.

chris - 25-2-2006 at 09:16

my god my house is gonna blow away its nukin at the mo.

Dave - 25-2-2006 at 09:52

the wind is mental, where did that come from

I know Al's weather station gave a wind forecast, but it is blowing a hoolie at the moment.

chris - 25-2-2006 at 10:20

was just out at the estuary and walked the dog along the beach. may be hearing things but it sounded like a bomb went off in the dunes???

justal - 25-2-2006 at 13:14

Nice out there isn't it.... I went across to the seafront first thing this morning expecting to find at least 30 metres of nice flat water next to the beach, but the whole sea was just white with foam!

It has eased off a little now and the sun is shining, but is still averaging around 30 knots with close to 40 knot gusts at times.... Weather station recorded a max of 44 knots just after 9am this morning, I was stood (for as long as I could manage) measuring the wind with my handheld anemometer down at the estuary for a while and got a max of 40.2 knots... Certainly is blowing a hoolie out there. Would love to go out for a session now that it has settled down a bit and the tide has dropped, but Morgans friends are due around any minute now and I don't think I can afford to miss his first Birthday.

Al.

andy B - 25-2-2006 at 15:32

hey al, i think her in doors would kill you. and well within her rights i would say happy birthday to the little man
