willf - 12-9-2005 at 18:53

this selling stuff buisness is so easy. couriers are great. so how much is it to set up a mail order shop??

something to do on the side, loads of kit to try, naked woman offering themselves to me just to get sponsored and have there silly little photo taken on their trade price rocket fish!!!

ah the dreams....

jon d hat - 14-9-2005 at 19:53

Mmmm...Free naked chick with every trade price rocket fish:tongue 3d: I'll have 2 please and so will my mate

You'll clean up with offers like that.!!

chris - 14-9-2005 at 20:50

well i can't be that hard some "shops" sell loads a gear and have no idea what there selling. it would seem they just wana make money.

willf - 15-9-2005 at 12:29

that's it exactly! all the gear no idea! and make money. easy. i reckon it would be a bit too easy though. Al has offered to make my e store for me! with my rediculous knowledge of the sport i reckon it'd be great. oh and i'll offer a dog repair servise as well, mail order!

so what are the figures how much kit do you have to buy, how do you get hold of it etc etc.

mNeil - 15-9-2005 at 13:24

from what i gather there are a great deal of shops struggling out there and just a few making fortunes. diversification could be one secret to success; so many shops are too specialised and their product range is too limited , they are not giving themselves a chance to be as successful as others.
i assume that you have got a good wedge to buy stock Wills; a spare 30/40k will stop you having to borrow from the bank and then your profits go into your pocket and not the banks. this is assuming that you have premises where you can store your stock; of course you could deal with a certain british company and you dont have to carry any stock at all!
of course you could decide that all that work at uni to become a vet was worth it, stick to it and do one thing well and make a fortune anyway.

willf - 15-9-2005 at 15:47

absolutley!!! the uni work was well worth it!!! just ebayed a load of kit and got over excited by it all!!! could never do it for real! i'd suck at it! and vetting is my life! just need to move to the coast is all. land is slowly getting me down it's awful the way your car just doesn't rust and the wind never blows and the temperature actually fluctuates. So back to the matter at hand is borth the place to be?

!

chris - 15-9-2005 at 16:31

you know it is.

although maybe western oz? or brazil, or capetown.

the world is our oyster.

leonardo - 15-9-2005 at 19:13

just a few words from the bok born and raised in probably and arguably the world's best kitespot - Cape Town..

The place rocks. Awesome weather over summer, awesome surfing in winter, bustling nightlife, beautiful scenery and all the blue sky and outdoor activities one could wish for...

but why is it then that so many young white south africans are moving to the UK??? I'll tell you why, the grass is not always greener on the other side..

Crime, people breaking into your houses so that they can buy bread for their families (and God help u if u or your missus is home when they break in), your personal car being broken into every 3-4 months for the latest sterio u've just had installed or a cheap jersey just to keep a streetkid warm at night, affirmative action where your degree means nothing as a black underpriviliged person will always get a job over you..see what i mean? just a few things to consider when dreaming about living overseas at all of these dreamlike kitemag destinations..that's just South Africa, don't even get me started on Rio, Brazil where my mum lived for more than 25 years on Copacabana Beach..I know all about it and all the stories that go with it..

In summary, i'd have to say that Cape Town and a small handful of other spots are tip top, but Ynyslas really is one helluva safe, friendly and cool spot!!!

leonardo - 15-9-2005 at 19:15

just to add to that, I Can't wait for next weekend Dudes!!! Chris - Your Wedding is Gonna ROCK MATE!!!!!

william the sonic is shaping up. infact all the bow kites are doing the biz. i'm saving all my pennies.

willf - 16-9-2005 at 20:26

me too trying to convince sean to let me put a deposit down for one but he's not too keen. seems to think it will be hard to make sure i get one! what about the nova. not keen on xbow as just not gonna use it enough to get the strength in my arms to fly for long enough...

willf - 16-9-2005 at 20:27

and who call's me william, honestly

chris - 16-9-2005 at 21:36

i don't think the bar pressure is that much. may pop up to anglesey to fly one in october. slingshot has released one. the turbo diesel and naish are due to follow. plenty of time to check them all out.

mNeil - 17-9-2005 at 10:12

graham is getting the cabrinah at the end of this month so we will be able to see for ourselves really how good they are.
