how long was the journey in the end?

neil,

the journey was made easier with 3 liters of coke and salt and vinegar crisps ( a technique used by justal i think). around 7/8 hours from your part of the world.

3 hours on the ferry. bar opened at 8 am. good cheap food.

the way home was hard work but leo got my van flying along at around 80mph!!!
