Just reading in kitesurf, the kiting edge, where they've news from different places around the country. Anybody fancy putting something in for Borth and mid Wales ?. It all seams to be happening in North Wales.
I was thinking of doing that... mainly so that I could promote this site (especially the diaries)... maybe we should submit a
Forces-of-Nature West Wales entry each month and we could all contribute a bit??
Al.
Maybe a news thread and send some of the best bits to the mags each month. I think windsurf do a similar thing.
Good idea dunk, when r u down next?? Ive booked my flight to tenerife, hope to c u there.
So what shall we write for this months news then.... I did write one about a month ago with the news for the early part of the year,
but left the notes I wrote in Bristol, so never actually got around to sending it into the magazine.
Heres a few things for starters.....
Unfortunately there hasn't been much happening lately. Thankfully no accidents to report, The recent F-O-N beach meetings were
practically windless, but a good time was had in the pub. There have been a few new faces on the beach quite often, and all the other
locals and regular itinerant kitesurfers have been out whenever the wind allows, with people kiting at Borth, Ynyslas and Aberdovey.
Talks about the propsed artificial reef at Borth are still ongoing, but with no definite decisions having been made yet.
On the kit scene a couple of homemade boards have turned up on the beach, Shems 'Purple Monster' appears to go well, as does Chris's
plywood plank. Both are pretty unsophisticated pieces of plywood that cost next to nothing to make. Rob has also been experimenting, in
a typical student way, with solid steel bars on his aged Peter Lynn Peel. He seems to like it but it does weigh a tonne!
There are various bits of business news / rumours, but I'm not sure what I'm allowed to mention and what I'm not???
And, two of the local kitesurfers (Al and Shem) are getting married this summer... not to each other I hasten to add Both are looking
forward to their honeymoons, hoping for wind and hoping that married life won't interfere with their time on the water.
Then I guess we should arrange a F-O-N summer bash for August and mention it.... Which weekend???
What else shall we add?
Al.
sounds alright!
Dunk.... whats the e-mail address for the editor of the 'kiting edge' section and I'll get something off to them.
Al.
just a thought but does anybody have any photos to send in with the write up??
although there wasnt any wind at the first BST bash (i wasnt there for the second so i dont know!) there was at one point plenty of
people out flying kites? perhaps a decent photo would persuade a few more folk to pay us a visit... if thats a good idea or not i dont
know!
other than that i'm still scratching my head for other things you could say.
ohh dont forget to mention the new beach guide?!
