If anyone does go, post a report on it here, so that we all know what happened!

Was anyone there??? It seems as though most kitesurfers were at Borth this wekend where we had pretty much perfect conditions!

I'm sure Porthcawl was going off for the BKSA riders too.

Hey there Al,
Our weekend ripped didn't it?! I heard from a source that the wind was only blowing for the juniors event and later dropped. The Pro's were pretty pi55ed off cause they had made the long journey for nothing, and there was us boosting in sunny conditions!! What a laugh :-)

I also heard from Chris Bull (AKA Bullyboy) that a 15yr old junior went off to another spot near Porthcawl and ended up getting nailed by a gust/squall into a 30ft breakwater wall. His helmet shattered, he got lifted up & over the wall and then over the restaurant on the other side!! Loads of people ran over to help catch him and sustained serious sliced up hands from the kite lines..the kid (not sure who he is as it is all very quiet at the moh) is in a critical condition in the hosp. currently undergoing brain surgery...ouch and not good for kiting.

I guess the lesson to be learned here is stick with big wide open spaces, avoid groins and walls at all costs.

Not at all good for kiting, especially happening in association with a BKSA organised event.. Hope he's OK.... He certainly wouldn't be if he hadn't been wearing a helmet by the sounds of it.

Here you go....doesn't sound too good and they keep going on about how dangerous kitesurfing is!
