I gave everything a good clean and service at the same time. All seems to be working well once again. Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6820 Sat, 08 Oct 2022 14:27:01 +0100 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36351 Weather Station - Fixed - By justal A big thanks to Lawrence for scaling the pole to replace the anemometer for us. It stopped working for some reason while I was in hospital as an emergency inpatient and I’m now under doctors orders not to do anything more strenuous than a gentle walk. So, I was unable to do it myself. Lawrence stepped up to the task though and to be fair he looked a lot more comfortable up the pole than I ever do! It’s all fixed now and should therefore be reading correctly again. Just in time as it’s pretty windy out there today. I’ve already restarted the weather station PC but will leave it off for a while until the power stabilises. Out later if wind is reasonably good and for sure tomorrow which looks quite big, warmer and SW!!! http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6817 Sat, 27 Mar 2021 11:31:11 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36345 Stay Local.... - By justal Looks as tough some people might be able to make the most of the changes from 'Stay at Home' to 'Stay Local' in the next few days. There's even some wind around as well. It'll be nice not to be the only person on the water for a change. It’ll be back up and running when the power companies sort it out. I can't wait, but at least 2 weeks of sacrifice for the greater good wasn't as bad as it could have been. Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6812 Fri, 06 Nov 2020 11:32:53 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36331 Weather station stuck? - By Blaschito it looks like so! I will be out tomorrow but I will check next few days, if not too Baltic I will get out as I am off from all travelling etc this week. Speak to you soon Al http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6808 Sun, 23 Feb 2020 21:03:39 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36322 Estuary - By Blaschito Thanks Al I shall give a go, its been a good couple of days, we are lucky with the estuary :) http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6810 Fri, 28 Jun 2019 21:55:55 +0100 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36319 Ivor is blowing his socks off - By justal Yep, it's that time of year again. Ivor is in full force here at Ynyslas. Close to 50 knots here on the weather station so likely to be a little bit more than that in the estuary itself. What a star!!! Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6811 Thu, 27 Jun 2019 05:33:26 +0100 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36312 Bank Holiday Borth Bonanza - By justal I was reminded this morning that it's a bank holiday on Monday so as is now customary it's time for an Aberystwyth Aquanuts outing to Borth. Meet at the lifeboat station at 7:45am so that we can be in the water at 8am. We'll decided where we go once we are there as it might be a bit windy. It'll also be almost low tide, but the tides are only small ones so if it's too rough on the sea front in Borth we can always swim in the estuary at Ynyslas instead. Likely to be swimming for up to an hour so 2500-3000m. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6809 Fri, 24 May 2019 14:21:03 +0100
