Tuesday 2nd December - walk ***** – Kirton circuit – sunny with
light winds.
Mag headed out for her early walk before sunrise but as it was cloudy I
gave it a miss again today. The day then cleared to lovely winter sunshine
with light winds, as we were not seeing Mary this afternoon it left us free
to pack a picnic, so I did my exercises and made mash potato, while Mag
made a several meals with a pack of mince and even managed some hedge
trimming before we left Felixstowe to head over to Kirton for a walk. We
parked at the back of the church and as we were too early for lunch we
decided to do the walk first setting off across the footpaths over the
fields of winter wheat, in fact the whole of Suffolk seems to be covered in
a vibrant green. We are so lucky to live in Suffolk to enjoy the brilliant
countryside with stunning views down to the River Deben. We were lucky
enough to spot a Chinese Water Deer which watched us for awhile before
scampering away, we skirted around a small pine copse shielding a large
house all looking lovely set against a deep blue sky, we walked through
farm yards and didn’t see another human being, just perfect, just so
peaceful. By the time we returned to our van we had covered a little over
three miles and were ready for lunch which we had in the van while watxhing
a green woodpecker, what a top day:)
