Thursday 6th February - walks *** – Landguard Nature Reserve with Maeva – foggy start then sunny but chilly breeze from the NE.

For the second day running we are having Maeva for the day, this time because her Dad had to work at home for the day meaning he would get nothing done with Maeva on his knee all day:) After doing our word games in bed Mag said there was fog blowing up the road so I quickly headed down to the seafront to take some weather pics and the fog was amazing with a glimpse of sunshine coming through, I then drove to Felixstowe Ferry, clearer there and the golf course was covered to white frost, just lovely. I got some lovely pics but once again sadly none were used:( I then came home for breakfast and to sort out my pics while Mag walked around to pick Maeva, she seemed a little under today perhaps knackered from yesterday? She had some quiet time with Mag while I managed to do my exercises before we drove down to The Manor for a walk around Landguard Nature reserve, with the chilly NE breeze on our backs it was quite pleasant and Maeva was soon fast asleep! On reaching the River Orwell there was a large container ship slowly moving off its berth with the help of 3 tugs! We found a nice sheltered spot for our picnic with the sun in our faces with some nice waves hitting the jetty as the huge container ship passed. Maeva then woke up and enjoyed her lunch too, she was not happy being put back in the buggy and was sadly grumpy while we walked back to the van into a cold breeze, not pleasant at all but the highlight was a passing Spitfire flying overhead and we were pleased to get home for a cuppa, hot water bottle and light the fire while Maeva really bucked up with the help of a couple of biscuits!
