Wednesday 6th November - walk ***** – Around Woodbridge – cloudy
:(.
The day started badly when we learned that Trump had won the American
election how anyone can vote for that horrible man is beyond me, the world
has gone to ‘shite’ :(
The gloom continues to envelope Suffolk but we were having our ray of
sunshine, the lovely Maeva for the day, as we are picking her up at 10.30
it gave me time to do my exercises bedfore packing lunch and driving round
to pick her up. After a chat with Jay we set off driving over to Woodbridge
in light drizzle, luckily that quickly stopped and we had a day of light
winds and moody grey hanging over the River Deben, quite pretty really! We
managed to park nesr the childrens play area just down the road from
Notcutts Garden centre. We left the luch in the van and set off across the
park having to cross the railway track and set off along the lovely tree
lined path leading towards Kyson Point as a train passed, in fact we saw
several today:) We spotted cows in the marshy pasture near the river too
and when we reached the Deben path it was beautiful with a few small yachts
moored out on the River Deben making some cool reflections, the tide was
quite low but coming in and the mud was alive with loads of waders
including avocets, curlews, redshanks, egrets and a large selection of
ducks and it was lovely and quiet too, the fewset people we have ever seen
here at Woodbridge:) We ambled along the path taking in the beauty with
Maeva calling to the ducks with me stopping now and again to take a few
picks! Maeva had discovered the biscuit tin and had had a few by the time
we reached the Tide Mill where we stopped to feed a family of swans with
some bread we had taken, they did hiss at us quite loadly :) We turned at
the Mill, had a quick look at the progress of the Saxon Longship before
walking back towards the Sailing club and checking out the small model
yacht pond surrounded by some amazing trees with fantastic coloured leaves.
Back across the railway line through an avenue of tress in full Autumn
colour, Maeva was not impressed when I put a handful of leaves on her head!
Then onto the kids play area which we had to ourselves and Maeva enjoyed
her swing with Granny but was not so keen on the zip wire ride with me!
Back to the van to enjoy our lunch, Maeva loves spending time in our little
van. Then we walk up the road to Notcutts to buy my sister a c ouple of
plants and to show Maeva the Christmas grottos full of light and
decorations, she was suitably unimpressed :) Maeva then fell asleep on the
way back to the van and stayed that way until we got home! We then had fun
reading book and listening to old disco hits from the 70’s and Maeva is a
top dancer too:) After tea, her jammies on she is still full of life mainly
kissing pics of her mum and dad on Mags phone before her Dad picked her up,
I think she will sleep well tonight!
