Monday 28th October - walks ** – Hemley circuit – cloudy with some
light rain.
The germs continue making both Mag and I feel under the weather, we have
actually tested positive for covid meaning we had to give a family get
together yesterday a miss and we are not able to visit my Dad in hospital
:( It looked promising for a windsurf foil at Felixstowe bur then the
drizzle arrived so I was not missing much, I felt fit enough to do my
exercises before packing a picnic and we drove to Hemley Church to enjoy
the peace and quiet, hoping the rain would stay away long enough for a
walk. We were the only vehicle at Hemley and we were too early for lunch so
we did our walk first heading down to the Deben and the river path is muddy
and in poor condition:( We spotted an egret and several godwits feeding and
sleeping, we heard curlews too. It was nice to see a yacht actually sailing
down the river, we later learned a friend had windsurfed from Felixstowe
Ferry to Woodbridge first thing:) We reached Kirton Creek as the light rain
arrived making it miserable and not helping us feeling under the weather
but spotting a couple of jays lifted our spirits! We were pleased to get
back to the dry of our van to enjoy the egg sandwiches before heading back
to Felixstowe. Looks like no wind for several days so it will give me a
chance to get better! Some good news, we were booked in for a hot air
balloon trip tomorrow morning which I would be unable to go but it was
cancelled due to bad weather conditions, sadly we cant book until next
February!
