Biking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy and cool Max Speed: Distance Covered: 7.71 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Sunday 3rd October – bike *** – Around Felixstowe – cloudy and cool :(. After yesterday’s big winds and rain, we woke here in Felixstowe to a cool, cloudy morning with light winds but things were forecast to improve with the SW breeze increasing and the sun coming out, which actually proved spot for once:) I checked the wind early for a trip to Levington but very light so we had a bit of a lay in before making a flask and heading out on our bikes well wrapped up against the Autumn chill! Down though Langer Park and onto the old jetty for our warming cuppa, sadly I forgot the milk but it tasted OK as we watched the tide whizz out and a few yachts heading out of the Orwell. Being too chilly to stay too long we returned back across Landguard Reserve where a group of blokes dressed as 18th Century solders out on manoeuvres, every time they pretended to load their muskets they said bang, which made me smile! Now with a tail wind it felt much warmer so we continued along the busy prom all the way to Jacobs Ladder before taking a route through town and home for porridge and to short out my pics while regularly checking Landguard weather station waiting for the wind to pick up!
