4th June 2006
Mt. Biking:  Rough Ride Kington
Wind Direction: W
Wind Stength: F1
Surf / Sea State:
Air Temperature: 22DegC
Sea Temperature:
Weather: Sunny and warm
Max Speed: 34kM/hr (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 40kM (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Thought I would do the short 40kM ride since this would be my first attempt at anything over 20kM this year. Things were OK, if a little slow, up to 20kM after this point I got cramp in both thighs. Both quads were up like balloons and very painful. I managed to walk it off for 2kM, then rode for 2kM after which they locked again. Managed to walk and ride the 20kM back to Kington. It took me 5hrs - I have run marathons faster than this in the past. I think I will put it down to old age.
The course was great thou, with some great decents; I will do it again later in the year if I get the chance.
