Windsurfing: Castletown, Isle of Man Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 15 knots Surf / Sea State: Rolling swell Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered:
The wind had dropped a little today so I had a nice couple of hours
cruising around Castletown Bay on my Fanatic Cross 100 with a 6.3m sail. I
was perfectly powered up and just pleasantly cruising around the bay, so
nothing spectacular. First I tacked way upwind and out into the bay before
blasting back at full speed to the beach. There was a little bit of swell
out in the bay to gybe on and every now and then I was passed by a
low-flying plane from Ronaldsway, literally about 50 feet above my
head!!
As I was packing up a squall came through and the wind suddenly increased
to 26 knots. I was glad I wasn't still out in the bay with a big board a
6.3m sail!.
