Woohoo, what a session, reminded me of two qiotes from old videos, the
first was an old Neil Pryde video where Laird Hamilton said "The feeling I
get when I sail a speed board in chop is Pure Joy!".. I know how it felt,
what a ride the Sputnik is in small waves and choppy seas. Well powered up
the whole time I was pretty much on the edge of control most of the time as
the flat rocker line and sharp rails of the Sputnik provded a fast but
harsh ride through the chop, Great fun though and pretty hard work as it
certainly isn't the most forgiving board in such conditions.
The second quote was Robby Naish in RIP when he is sailing is Slalom kit
and says something along the lines of "But even when on my slalom kit I
just can't resist the temptation to get some air"... Neither could I and
with plenty of power and speed, that board flies!. No particularly high
jumps but some of the longest jumps I've ever done.
I tried a few wave rides on the board as well, but it isn't really made for
that, but some of the fast gybes on the face of the waves out the back were
fun.
All in all a lovely flat out session with the beach to myself.
