PERFECT!!! The katabatic wind (we haven't had one for a while) woke me up at around 4am, so once it was light I took a cycle down to the estuary to see just how windy it was.... 15 knots and if things went as they normally do with this wind, likely to pick up to a maximum sometime between 6 and 8 am...

So, it was back home to get my kit and straight out onto the water. Sure enough it had picked up by the time I got out, and even with the 13m completely depowered I had trouble getting myself down to the waters egde as i was well overpowered. I made it in the end and once on the water with my small bard the wind was just about manageable. I did end up going miles upwind when it was at its windiest though.

To start with there were some nice areas of flat water in between the sandbanks, and I weaved my way in and out of the bamks and up ast the Leri towards the Cletwr Bridge. As the tide came in the banks were soon submerged and I then had the wholeestuary to play in, although the water did get pretty choppy. I went over towards Aberdovey at one point, but just past the point and there was no wind at all. i had trouble keeping the kite flying, but managed to get back to the wind line as the currents were carrying me that way!

Lots of good jumps, no one else around and a pretty perfect session i the early morning sun really.... Wooohooo!

I got off the water at around 8am and the wind was still blowing at around 15-18 knots.
