Sunday 6th June - walks ***** - Around Felixstowe – sunny periods and hot.

Walk 1.

Woke early to another perfect day’s weather, wall to wall sunshine with light breezes, Mag said she was going to release the slugs and snails she collected from her garden last night at the end of our road so I got up to join her. We were at the cliff top at 6.15 and the view was pretty as a picture with the sea like a millpond and next to no one about, just how we like it. With the slugs gone to a new home in a small wild area we walk down through the garden near the town hall with everything now coming into bloom:) Sadly the first sight to greet us were two broken wine glasses smashed on the prom. As usual only a couple of metres from a bin, the world id just so full of uncaring idiots, we carefully picked it up as don’t like touching things other people have touched these days and put it in the bin. Being a Sunday morning we were quite impressed that generally there was not much litter about, the odd bin the gulls had emptied looking for breakfast and the usual empty cans and bottles by several of the benches:( We then walked the near deserted prom all the way to Jacobs Ladder with only the occasional dog walker and jogger, plus one metal detectorist and a few paddle boarders and canoeists making the most of the ideal conditions:) Then back home for a cuppa and read in bed before up for breakfast and exercises while Mag does some gardening before it gets too hot! Perhaps we can go for another walk later this afternoon if we can find somewhere quiet?

Walk 2.

After this morning’s lovely early morning walk, we spent the rest of the morning enjoying our garden, getting some nice pics of the beautiful flowers and bees, then after lunch we had to make a quick trip to Lidl stopping off at The Grove but it had started to cloud over hoping to see a bit of wildlife. The cow paisley was looking amazing, the canopy above had really filled in making it pretty dark now, not much in the way of wildlife today apart from the hundreds of noisy crows, even the horses and foals had disappeared! We did our usual circuit of the wood; the back path was covered in stingers which made our legs tingle! Then home via the busy sea front and home for a cuppa, cake and read, quickly dozing off! Hopefully tomorrow with the good weather continuing we are heading out for breakfast on our bikes early:)
