Friday 30th April - bike **** - Two rivers including lunch at Landguard – sunshine and showers but still chilly.

With the wind turning light until a storm hits on Bank Holiday Monday it was time to get the bikes out once again but with Mag having an eye test at midday, we could not leave home until 1.45. So, morning at home exercises but with the sun keeps disappearing behind some dark clouds it is once again cold for the time of year, only about 8 degrees! While Mag was up town, I packed a picnic lunch and phoned an old windsurfing mate. Then with Mag home we headed to our lunch spot on the old wooden jetty at Languard via Langer Park. I spotted a young seal sunbathing on a concrete groyne so stopped to take so pics and it seemed happy enough to have me snapping away, Mag had gone a slightly different route to the lunch place so I waved to her to come and have a look at the seal before returning to our picnic. Despite the high tide there was not much action on the river, a couple of yachts and fishing boats and it was pleasant enough when the sun came out but there were some black menacing clouds inland with the treat of rain, we had already had a brief shower this morning! Well rested we headed back through the reserve spotting several Wheat ears and rabbits, along the prom, fairly quiet, not surprising really as chilly! Mag then heads up Bent Hill and home while I continue onto Felixstowe Ferry for yet more pics of the boat yard at high water. Being a bit nippy I come back through the golf course turning into Ferry Lane, then taking a route through the town and home.
